Thank You, Jeanne!

Look at what I got in the mail from Jeanne.......

Isn't she the cutest hedgehog evah!?

And isn't Jeanne a sweetie?!

Here is the card she sent with it.  I love the flower soft she used on the tree.  Now, it is on my wish list.

Mom cam

Thank you so much, Jeanne!  You are sooooooooooooooo sweet!

I haven't created this week, because I have been addicted to YouTube videos on digital scrapbooking.  I am learning a lot and now I need to apply it.

Happy Stamping!

Reading Buddies

I finally took the time to take the first lesson in my Digi: In Deep class from Jessica Sprague.  Boy, I learned a lot.  I had to review the videos on some of the tasks just to know what to do.  I love all the new techniques I learned.  This class definitely takes you to another level of digi scrapping.  Here is what I learned:

  • Created complex shapes with the Photoshop drawing tools, including the vector drawing tools and the marquee tools
  • Used compound shapes as clipping masks
  • Created straight scalloped edges on patterned paper
  • Added "pop" to a photo with a colored overlay
  • Wrapped ribbon around objects
  • "Hung" a tag from ribbon
  • Created compound masks for a single sheet of patterned paper
  • Created a semi-transparent journaling box with shaped text in it
  • Re-colored textured items on their own layer

It is so much fun to scrap pictures of my boys.  Scrapbooking is my first love of paper crafting and will always be part of my creativity.

Look how little they they are in this layout!

Stamp Out Alzheimer's

The big event has finally arrived!  The challenges have begun at the Stampin' Out Alzheimers website, and you do not want to miss all the fun and fabulous prizes!  If you haven't registered and made a minimum $5 donation (which will go 100% to the Alzheimers Association!) you can do so by clicking on the yellow "give" button in the Stampin' Out Alzheimers box on the right sidebar of my blog.  It'll take a little while to approve your membership, and then you're in!  This has been a true labor of love for Jen Tapler, and she's been buried under a ton of work to make this event happen, so don't panic if you don't get instant approval.

Sketch Challenge sk052309

I am host this week at Paper Craft Planet for the sketch challenge.  I was inspired by the Good Times My Stickease pack and paper from CTMH.

When you upload your card at Paper Craft, don't forget to tag your photo sk052309, so I can find it and put it in the gallery.

Here is my card for this sketch.

Have fun and Happy Stamping!

My Star

Today, is the last day of school and I didn't feel like cleaning, so I took the time to create another layout.  This is the first entire digital scrapbook kit I purchased.  I bought it from Sweet Shoppe Designs and it is There's No Crying in Baseball by Libby Weifenbach

You can click on the link to see the kit I purchased.  I like it because it had papers, elements and quick pages.  I started with two of the four quick pages; however, I added elements and journaling.  It seems like I just can't leave a page as is.  I have to play with it.  I have too much fun adding embellishments.  I added one element that did not come from Libby's kit.  It is the "my star" frame that I used as my journaling box.  I downloaded that from Sweet Tomato Designs called Dream On.

In addtion, I added an overlay from Shabby Princess called Too Soon.  It was the perfect brown distressed edge for my pages.

Don't forget to check back tomorrow.  I am hosting the sketch challenge on Paper Craft Planet.

Happy Stamping!

Simple Birthday

Just a quick post to show you a couple more of the quick birthday cards I put together from the Good Times Level 2 paper pack and My Stickease.

Still busy with PTA duties.  Only three days of school left...YAY!  I am so ready for summer break and spending all day with my boys.

I have some of my CTMH stamp sets for sale.  They have been used, but are in good condition.  If you want a list, please send me an email at stampfest@cox.net.

Happy Stamping!

Happy Graduation, Jacob!

My nephew, Jacob, is graduating from high school today.  Boy, I can remember when he was born.  Time sure flies!  This is the card I made for him.  I purchased the graduate boy image from The Greeting Farm.  This is one of the first digital stamps I have purchased to color in and it was easy.  I printed from my  Canon printer on Gina K 120 lb. luxury white paper.  I used my copics to color him and I didn't see any smearing.  In addition, it is the first time I used the Gina K paper.  It is really nice and thick.  Love it!

I wanted to add a hip statement to Jacob's card, so I stamped "Dude u ROCK".  The stamps sets for the sentiment are Dude (retired), Dino Roar and solo u.  Those are all from CTMH.

I used my nestabilities label two set and my cuttlebug embossing folder.  Oh, I love my toys!

Happy Stamping!

Thank You, Barb!

I have the best bloggin' friends, evah!  Barb Walker from The Buzz sent me these two cards this month.  The Riley card "Pamper Yourself" was for my birthday and the Thinking of You card was for Mother's Day.  Barb, you are so kind and creative.  Inky hugs!

The school carnival is over...YAY!  It was a big success and now, there is only one week of school left.  Then I will be back to my stamp room on a regular basis.  I can't wait!

Not much time to stamp this weekend either.  My sister, Connie's, youngest child is graduating from high school on Sunday, so we are going on a road trip.  She will be an empty nester next year and my youngest is going to preschool.  Connie and I are only four years apart...hmmm!  She was married at 21 and I didn't get married until I was 32.  Connie is going to have a lot of time to visit me next year....right?

I have a question for you digital scrappers out there.  Have you heard of ScrapWow digital site?  I got an email today from them about their membership and am tempted to try it.  Are any of you a member?  If so, do you like it?

Happy Stamping!

Staying Young

Here is another quick card I put together with the Good Times level 2 pack and My Stickease.  I am not one to lie about my age, but I do believe in living honestly and I hear eating slowly is a great idea.  I don't seem to do that...LOL!

I believe to the way I try to stay young is to be happy and enjoy every day.  I love the quote by Abraham Lincoln, "Everyone is as happy as they make their minds up to be."  That is one I have taped below our family calendar and read often, especially to our boys.

BTW, I just turned "42" and I love every age I am.  They just seem to keep getting better.

Only eight days left of school this year....YAY!  I can't wait to get back to my desk and create.

Happy Stamping!

Enjoy the Journey

First, I want to show you the roses I got on Mother's Day.  I bought the biggest one after mass on Sunday to donate to a great organization and I got the red one from a mexican restaurant in town, La Mesa.  When we got our bill, they gave me a rose for mom's day.  That was an unexpected surprise.

My DH took our boys to the store Sunday morning to shop for mom.  They got to pick out what they wanted to get me.  Tate picked a pack of red licorice and Tanner picked a case of Diet Pepsi.  My boys know me well!  My two favorite things, especially when I am scrapping!  I am putting money I got from my birthday and mom's day towards a new lens for my camera.  I need to order it soon, so I can play with it.

On Saturday, I sat down with my Good Times Level 2 paper pack and My Stickease and made a few cards.  I don't have time to create this week due to PTA commitments, so I will be showing you the cards I made simpler, easier and faster.  That is CTMH's moto!

My DH asks me for birthday cards for his employees and I know they will make their way to the trash, so I wanted to make some simple ones.  I used a photo corner punch for the chocolate corners.

Have a great day!

Happy Mother's Day

I would like to wish all of the moms in blogland a very Happy Mother's Day!
I hope your day is filled with love and happiness!

Here is a cute video I found on a blog this weekend.  I don't watch this show, but I thought all the moms could relate.

Have a great day!

My Hedgehogs

This is what I got in the mail from my mom and dad.  My mom knows how much I love hedgehogs, so she ordered these cuties for my birthday.  When I opened this package, I knew just what I was going to do with them.  They were made to go outside, but I want to see them all the time.  I think they make perfect card holders.  So CUTE!

The two cards that the momma hedgehog is holding are from two of my friends.  Patti made the one on the left and Terese made the one on the right.  Oh, it is so much fun to get handmade cards.  I am so glad I found this wonderful craft and have such great friends.

I still have another card to show you, but I wanted to space them out a little.  It is a Riley card made by my friend, Barb.  I will post it some time next week.

I haven't crafted today (yet).  I am getting ready for scrapbook club tonight, so I will be creating later.

Happy Stamping!

Congrats, Terese!

Let me know, which ones you want!

Have a great weekend!

Perfect

I was looking for this card yesterday, so I could show you another card made with the May stamp of the month, Be Yourself.  I looked every where and some places twice.  Well, I found this cute card Chris Shouse made and sent me today....when I wasn't looking.  I found it on my Clip It system and I looked there at least two times yesterday.

I didn't have time to create today due to PTA committments, so I am glad I found this today.  Chris used liquid glass on the dress too, but used a different image from this set.  Very pretty and chic!  Who doesn't like pink and black?

Chris used the Notebook pattern paper and the new Foundry Bookplates.  Love it!  Thanks for the card, Chris!

I will be drawing a winner for the blog candy tomorrow, Friday, May 8th!  If you haven't entered you can see the post here.

Happy Stamping!

Be Yourself

My friend, Brenda, who is is a CTMH consultant too had this cute make-n-take at her table last weekend.  She was one of the vendors at a Diva Shop Fair I went to on National Scrapbooking Day.  Isn't it cute?  What I really like about this card, besides the new Bella paper, is the way the liquid glass makes the dress pop.  The image was stamped in the same ink, but the liquid glass brightens the color and adds depth.  So cool!

If you don't have liquid glass, you should buy some.  If you do have it, get it out and use it.  You won't be sorry.

This image and sentiment is from the May stamp of the month, Be Yourself.

Thanks, Brenda!

This week, our challenge at Paper Craft Planet is being sponsored by Kelleigh Ratzlaff from The Digi Chick!.  Kelleigh has generously offered a $20 gift card to her store for the best bag!   In addition, the winner will also get a $5 gift card to ANYTHING on the Digi Chick store!

These templates are AWESOME and so easy!  You just print the design on to your patterned paper, cut, score and glue!  Presto, you look like Martha Stewart in minutes!

OK, so take the challenge -- create a small gift bag, and upload it to Paper Craft Planet.  Use the tag 3d11.  You do NOT have to use one of Kelleigh's templates to win -- but they are so easy and fun, we know that you'll want one :)  We'll pull it into the album and pull a winner next Tuesday.  I can't wait to see what you make!

Check out what the other Supernovas have made.  These ladies have created some of the cutest gift bags.

Take the 3d Challenge.

I used the funky bag #2 template and made these three bags.  I really like this template.  It is easy to work with and sometimes I need a small gift bag and don't have one.  Now, I can make my own.

For this cute gift bag I used Rustic Trail pattern paper and My Stickease.  I thougth this would be cute to use with a spa gift card for a manicure, pedicure....ahhh!

I used Groovy Blossoms pattern paper (retired).  Then I decorated with Just Blooms, hollyhock button with colonial white waxy flax, chocolate ribbon, dimensional and Solo Y stamp set.

For my last gift bag, I used Sonata pattern paper, brown ric rac from my JCPenney stash, blush button, chocolate waxy flax, tag punch from Paper Shapers and For Every Occasions stamp set.

Happy Birthday!

To celebrate my birthday today and National Scrapbooking Day I created a two page layout of my son, Tate's, eigth birtday.  In addition, I have some blog candy!  I will be offering a full DVD of my video tutorials.  I can fit between 17-18 tutorials on a DVD.  So if you want to be entered into the drawing just leave a comment on this post telling me what you are doing (or did) on National Scrapbooking Day.  If you want an extra ticket in the drawing, post something on your blog about my blog candy and let me know.

If you are wondering why Tate's brother, Tanner is on his birthday page, I wanted to show how Tanner has black teeth and frosting from his brother's cake.  AND....Tanner is Tate's favorite!

Here is the card I made for this week's challenge using theMy Grafico Butterfly Garden digital stamp set.  I printed my digital stamps directly onto my pattern paper and love how it turned out.  I could have printed them on cardstock and colored them in, but I wanted to see how they would look this way.  It was so easy to print them and cut them out to adhere to my card.

I used the Unforgettable Paper Pack from CTMH plus a pattern paper from their Evensong Collection.  Fun, fun, fun!

Have a great National Scrapbooking Day!
