I was playing around with my Cuttlebug and have never used my flower embossing folder, so I decided to create a card with it. I am not happy with this one, but they can't all be winners. After I finished the card, I asked my sister what sentiment she thought of when she thought of flowers. She was reluctant to say, so I said come on what do you think of and finally she said Happy Mother's Day. Here it is (Mom..close your eyes):
I used chalk on the embossed flower, matted in pink and topped it off with pink organdy ribbon.
Have a great weekend!

More To Adore
Since I didn't feel creative yesterday, I didn't want to take any chances today (Wednesday). I visited SplitcoastStampers website for their sketch challenge. They have a new sketch challenge every Wednesday and I used to play all the time. It was nice to participate again. Here is their sketch:
Here is my card:
In addition, I read in the Weekly Inkling from Splitcoast about taking better photos of your projects. I tried one of the suggestions from Beate. She takes her pictures in front of a window for natural light and add some of the products used on the project in the photo. I think my photo would have been better if taken in the morning, but I didn't read the article until the afternoon. My photo for tomorrow was taken at the same time, so I am going to have to try morning light next week.
I like how this card turned out. I seem to be using the new paper flowers by CMTH a lot lately. Who doesn't love the color combo pink and chocolate? I know Colette does. Yes, Colette you. I should hear from you on this one...hint, hint...LOL!
Recipe:
Card - 5 x 7
Paper - More To Adore Level 2 paper pack
Embellishments - Chocolate Collection ribbon rounds, Just Blooms Big Pinks, chocolate distressing ink, hollyhock button, bubblegum waxy flax, pink brads (non-CTMH).
I wanted to comment on my friend Debbie's layout I posted. There was a nice comment posted by an anonymous reader who mentioned she should start a business designing layouts. That is so ironic, since I just met with Debbie today to discuss her plans on doing just that. We threw around different ideas and she is going to start her business in March. I will keep you updated on this, because a person starting something new needs all the encourage and help she can get.
I want to thank you for all the comments you leave regarding my artwork and especially my videos. I have fun creating them and am glad you enjoy them. If you want to suggest some techniques or types of cards you would like to see, I can try to accommodate you.
Have fun and take time to create!

Sunglasses Sweetheart
I didn't feel creative today, so I shopped, sent business emails and played games with Tanner. I don't have anything new from me, BUT I do have a layout one of my friends, Debbie, sent me. She does a great job! Here it is....Please click to enlarge.
Please feel free to send me your artwork, so I can see what you have been doing (especially with techniques).
I hope to feel more creative tomorrow! I don't like these days.
Happy Stamping!

Technique Tuesday - Acrylic Blocks
I hope you had a great weekend. We played Wii, since Friday night. We got it for our oldest for his birthday. It is a family gift, since we all play. Our boys are addicted already and my arm hurts too...LOL!
This card was designed by Chris, my upline. It shows how to use acrylic blocks as a stamped image. Hope you enjoy!
I would love to see any artwork you make, especially if it is a technique you used. If you don't want me to put it on my blog just let me know. Email me your artwork by clicking on the view complete profile on the left sidebar. You will see an email link under contact.

Chalkboard Technique
Finally, I finished my video tutorial. My boys didn't have school on Wednesday due to below zero temperatures, so I had to wait for them to go back to school today (Thursday). I hope you like this technique and of course, I love comments and questions.
Have a great weekend!

Valentines from Sis
I'm back from tax land. YAY! I have my portion of our taxes caught up and just have to wait for my husband to complete his band "stuff" before I give it to our tax guy. I am going to try to keep updated this year. Wish me luck!
I added a verification section to my comment screen. My friend, Jeanne, decided to add it to her blog for security purposes and I thought it was a good idea too. You just have to type the letters you see before entering your name and password. I hope you don't mind.
I apologize for not having a video tutorial today. I will have to post one later this week. My boys and husband are home Monday and Tuesday and there is no way I am going to attempt one with them in the house...LOL!
Here are the Valentine's Day cards we received from my sister, Connie. Aren't they great? I think they are awesome! They arrived on Valentine's Day with candy and a cd. That was a great mail day.

Technique Tuesday - Window Charms
This is not a stamping technique, but I hope you like it.
I forgot to mention in my video that I thought it would be a cute idea to make letter blocks for a baby card or even for a kindergarten graduation card like this!

I will not be blogging for a few days. I am going to take my normal stamping time and finish working on our taxes. I keep putting it off and I need to get it done, so I am not letting myself play until I finish my work. Hope to blog again soon!
Happy Stamping!
I'm Hooked
Okay, here is the last layout I finished over the past week. I am out of layouts now and have to go back to the creating board.

Paper - Laid Back Level 2
Stamp Sets - Outdoor Trek; Hook, Line and Sinker, Beauty Seen (retired), Gone Fishing (retired)
Colors - autumn terracotta textured (and the reverse side which is a lighter orange), dutch blue, olive, white daisy
Embellishments - autumn terracotta photo clips, autumn terracotta ribbon, autumn terracotta brads, colonial white brads, extra large copper eyelets (non-CTMH), natural hemp, coluzzle tags

Tagged by Jeanne
I have been tagged by Jeanne and since I forgot to complete the last tag game, I thought I better do this one. Here are the rules:
List one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name. Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to up-date your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and need to read your blog for details.
I am so happy my middle name is Ann, short and sweet.
Athletic - Until I found scrapbooking all of my hobbies had something to do with sports. I still play basketball, baseball, kickball, etc. with my boys. In fact, I beat my husband a year ago at HORSE and I never let him forget that I finally beat him.
Nutty about scrapbooking and cardmaking. I am so in love with this hobby that I can't imagine not creating. I have met so many wonderful people through this obsession and have so much fun!
Nice - I always try to be nice. In fact, I am getting a book from my sister that is all about being nice, so hopefully I can be even nicer. LOL!
I want to tag some new blogs I belong to and love to visit:
Dawn at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts
Angie at Chic n' Scratch
Maria at Stampin Inspirations by Maria

My Favorites - Age 5
Every year, I try to ask my boys what their favorites are around their birthday. Here is a layout with Tate's favorites at age five. It is fun to go back and look at what they like and how it changes. These are Tate's kindergarten pictures. That year we couldn't get him to show his teeth when he smiled and now he is over that stage...I am so glad! Of course, his favorite is Tanner, so that is why he at the end of the arrow!

Napping Buddies
Thanks for your comments about my first video tutorial. Now, that I know how to create one I will be able to make more.
I thought it was safe to make my tutorial, because my boys and husband were out of the house and then THAT DARN CAT! Yes Jeanne, that noise in the background is the cat's automatic litter box. I didn't notice it, when I was taping the tutorial. When I watched it I couldn't believe what I heard. How did he know to go in his room and interrupt my quiet household? I wasn't going to start from scratch, so I left it hoping no one would notice. I was wrong...you are astute, Jeanne! I will turn it off next time....LOL!
Some of you asked questions about how I made the tutorial. Here are the answers:
All my inspiration is from Dawn at Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. I love her videos and wanted to try them too! I used my digital camera on a tripod in front of my chest and I worked around it. I have Windows Movie Maker (which Dawn uses) and downloaded it there to work with it. Thank God for my nephew Jacob, who walked me through how to write instructions on the video and how to publish it. Then I opened a You Tube account and uploaded it to my account there. Once it was uploaded I copied the tag to the Edit Html tab in blogger. Viola it was finished! It did take most of the day to figure out, but now I know how to complete the process. Next time it should be a little smoother, especially if I turn off the cat box. Hee Hee!
I am posting early today, because I have a technique class tonight. I really like this layout, because of my wonderful boys and cat. They are such great buddies. Who am I kidding? I like all of my layouts, because that is the reason I started this hobby in the first place.
Recipe:
Paper - Free Spirit Level 2 paper pack, cocoa cardstock, dutch blue cardstock, white daisy cardstock
Stamp sets - Homestead alphabet, Memory Labels, solo "c"
Ink - dutch blue, cocoa
Embellishments - creative clips, pewter bigger brads, Free Spirit My stickease, dimensional elements simple alphabet (lowercase), dimensional elements ribbon accents, twilight designer ribbon rounds, cocoa organdy ribbon, pewter photo clip
Happy Stamping!

After some badgering from my sister, I finally decided to take a crack at a video tutorial. Please let me know what you think of it and if you would like to see these in the future or the original way I posted my tutorials. Thanks!
Now, it is your turn!
