Congratulations

I have not stamped for four days now...BUMMER! Omaha was hit by 115 mph winds last Friday around 4:45 pm, which was classified as a stage one hurricane. Can you believe it? We are in the middle of the states and we get hurricane winds. It was amazing! I have never seen anything like it. Along with the winds came hail, which damaged roofs, cars, etc. SOOOO...we have been busy (like the rest of the folks in Omaha) cleaning up. We had a big limb from one of our trees land on our house and puncture a hole in our roof and water in the basement. We were one of the lucky ones. Many, many people had much worse experiences and damage. This is the biggest reason my stamping was put on hold. I hope to resume on Wednesday.

Tomorrow, I will be getting ready for my stamp club meeting. We are making the big buckle card I posted a little while ago.

I was pleasantly surprised, when I got my mail on Saturday. Chris, my upline, sent me this gorgeous congratulations card for my sales. Isn't it beautiful? I am going to cardlift this one and luckily I have all the materials to do so...YAY!

Tutorial Time - Suspension Card

This card was fun to make; however, you will see in the video I had to do a second take. I wasn't paying close attention and put the circle images upside down....LOL! Don't make the same mistake. I decided to put the measurements in this post instead of at the end of the video. Oh..don't fret....the measurements are throughout the video too.

Measurements:

Card - once scored 4 1/4 x 11, score at 5 1/2
Key Lime cs - 3 x 4, 2 1/8 x 3
Sunkiss Yellow cs - 2 3/4 x 3 3/4
Heavenly Blue cs - 2 x 2 7/8
White Daisy cs - 1 3/4 x 2 5/8, 1 1/4" circles (2)

Edited to add: I forgot to mention on my video that I used vanilla cream CTMH marker for the baby's skin.

FAMILY - TOGETHER

I am trying to get my sister to come over and see me...SOOOO I made her a two page layout to entice her to my house. She has to come visit me to get it. Do you think it will work?

I used the new Sasparilla Level 2 paper pack with coordinating cardstock...twilight, barn red, desert sand and black. The title is done with the "E" sized Rustic Alphabet. I stamped them and then cut them out. I distressed the cardstock with black chalk ink and added black accessories. I finally used the clear buttons I have and I really like them. I punched a 3/4 inch circle and ran those through my Xyron and then attached them to the buttons. Of course, I used the wonderful waxy flax. I would never thread buttons without that wonderful product.

I stamped on the twill with black ink. I used the solo alphabets and choose words that fit the theme. I used solo c, solo l and solo m. These stamp sets are great for adding a variety of stamped images or words to your layouts and cards.

Jeanne, since you asked I took a picture of the deck we just finished. Now, we are tearing up the deck right outside our back door. I hope this one is done by the 4th of July. We'll see!

I took this picture from the deep end of the pool. We just placed our chairs and tables on this side, so we could get everything off the old deck to tear it up, so it isn't the nicest set-up right now. I spend most of my time in the white lounge chairs. LOL!

Best Fishes

Here is a card I made for the color challenge on Mommy Scraps. I took her theme and "awesome" birthday sentiment and made one of my own. In addition, I had inspiration from Jeanne's front flip card she made using the D'Vine Swirl cuttlebug and fish theme. This one is a little different than the usual card I make. It took me a little out of my comfort zone, which (I guess) is a good thing.

I mainly used the following CTMH colors: breeze, ocean, orange, citrus leaf. I sponged the bottom part of the card in cocoa, chocolate and desert sand to make the bottom of the ocean or aquarium (whichever you prefer). I used the June stamp of the month, With Love, for the ocean plants, etc. I love how other CTMH consultants use this flower set for other themes. In addition, I sponged the breeze cardstock with breeze and ocean ink for the water. After using the cuttlebug folder, I highlighted some of the waves with my white gel pen. I hope you like this one!

I finished this card with eyelets and orange sassy strands. Wow! I hardly ever use eyelets any more. I had the perfect color to go with the ocean cardstock in my never-ending stash. LOL! AND I got to use my crop-a-dile. YAY!

Going Vertical

This is the layout I did for Tate's album, which is the same design as I made for Tanner's "Pump It Up" layout. I cannot believe how high Tate swings. It makes me queezy watching him. Click on the layouts to see him flying high and having fun. I really like the chipboard arrow and flourish that seems to fit the theme of this layout.

Tutorial Time - Front Flip Card

I created my video this morning right before my son's friend came to the front door...whew! All of you would have met both of them. LOL!

SC181 Challenge

I finally got my sketch challenge done from yesterday. I really like how it turned out.

This one is for you Mom! When you least expect it, you will get this one in the mail. My mom likes birds a lot. I bought this set, because it reminds me of her. My favorite stamp from the set is this cardinal. I hope I did him justice. The stamp sets are Take Flight and Say It In Style. The paper is Let's Get Together Level 2. The ribbon is from CTMH ribbon round collection and the pearls are from Archivers. The pearls are light blue. I like these little gems a lot.

I used my prisma pencils to color the cardinal and the branch. I used chalks for the sky. To see the details, click the picture to enlarge it.

My friend, Jeanne, had a great idea for me for my next video. She suggested I make a card like the last one I posted with the bees, so I did that with the July stamp of the month (available soon) I will create my video tutorial tomorrow (Friday). Busy Day

Okay, I tried to create all day, but have failed to do so. My DH surprised me and came home early this afternoon to work on our deck. It should be done this weekend...YAY!

Then, my sister has been emailing everything she has been seeing on the Internet including a great deal on nestabilities. Of course, I had to buy my first nestabilities today. Here is the site she sent me: Cut @ Home You have to sign up in order to get a code for 40% off one item (list cost).

AND of course, my boys have been in and out of the pool most of the day. I need to be out there while they swim, so no creating or computer during those times. Due to all of these excuses, I did not create anything new today. So I have a card from The Stamp Garden to share with you. Isn't this the cutest idea?




I have been working on the new sketch challenge on SplitCoast. Hopefully, I will get that done within the next two days. In addition, I am trying to think of what to feature on my video this week.

Pump it UP

As I wrote in my earlier post....I am on a scrapbooking kick right now. I was looking through my new Creating Keepsakes magazine (July 2008) and found a layout on page 36 that went perfectly with the pictures I just took of my boys swinging in the backyard.

Tanner (3 years old) finally learned how to "pump" on his own, so I don't have to push him on his swing anymore. YAY! ....and Tate swings so high he is vertical. I scrapped Tanner's layout last night and loved how it turned out. It was a simple layout without a lot of embellishments. I am into simple scrapbooking lately, so this layout was perfect. I think it showcases all the pictures perfectly. You can click to enlarge the layouts in order to see them better.

I used chipboard letters and arrows from the CTMH collection. In addition, I used My Stickease letters for the first part of the title. The paper is from School Zone and the My Stickease is from Hollydays. I couldn't believe these matched so well.
I have card class tonight, so I might not have time to create anything new. I am working on Tate's layout now. It will be the same format, but just a little different.

Happy Fourth

I have been in the mood to scrapbook lately and I need to get some pages done fast. I am soooo far behind. I know, I know...who isn't? I found some completed pages at Michael's that were so cheap I thought I would get a few and doctor them up with some of my stamps. Here is one of them:

I used Charm Uppercase stamp set on the title HAPPY FOURTH. In addition, I used Celebrate America stamp set (retired) for the stars around the pictures and land of the free. Finally, I stamped the year with Tiny Typewriter Alphabet stamp set (new).


I find myself trying to get caught up with my scrapbook pages, since I spend so much time on cards now. I will have to use quick an easy layouts whenever possible.

Barrel of Monkeys

I found some time to create today. I did have to ask my boys to give me a little peace and quiet for stamping time. They listened! Well, Tanner (3 years old) kept trying to ask me questions. I finally got this card done, which I am going to show in my video tutorial on Friday.

This is the July stamp of the month, Life's a Jungle. I really like this set and think of the Expedition paper packet every time I use it. This card is easy to make and I even got to use my coluzzle circle template. I have a couple of people in mind for this card. Luckily, I am making two of them, so they will both get one.

I used my CTMH watercolor pencils and waterbrush again to color in my image. Isn't he cute?

Imagine Inspire

I worked on decorating this morning and it was easier than I thought. I thought of using the Big Pinks from CTMH as accents, when I was running errands today. Unfortunately, I ran out and couldn't finish it just the way I wanted. I have an order going in tonight for more Big Pinks and will put one more flower combo on the bottom right. My sister is dying to see this, so I am going to post it without it completely done.

I really liked how the words turned out. I put them on a cabinet next to my scrap table. Do you like it?

Uppercase Living

I used my40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby today on vinyl to cut phrases and words similar to Uppercase Living. I have been working with my Pazzles Inspiration cutting system tonight creating the words IMAGINE and INSPIRE to put in my scraproom. Unfortunately, I can't decide tonight (it is after 10 pm right now) where I want to put them, so I am going to sleep on it and put them up tomorrow. I can't believe how easy it was to make these words myself and I didn't have to go to a party or spend a fortune. I did miss out on the good party food though....LOL! Those of you who know me well know I love appetizers. Okay, not just appetizers...hee hee! The cool thing about vinyl is I can put them on a wall and peel them off and move them somewhere else. I tried this with a scrap just to make sure. Stayed tuned for pictures of where I decided to decorate.

New Weekend Posting

Hello!

I am a little confused over my last post. I never got an email notification for Tutorial Time, so many of you might not have received one either. Scroll down for the tutorial if you missed it.

Okay! I have been wanting to post artwork from those of you who send me what you are creating. I don't create on the weekends much, so I would like to post paper projects I get from YOU! My first, dilemma is what to call this weekly post. I have been racking my brain to come up with a good name and cannot (help). SO! If you can think of a good name for the weekend artwork from you, I would be so grateful. In fact, grateful enough to send you some goodies. Is that enticing? I hope so. Just leave your suggestions in the comments below.

Second, I would love to see more artwork from all of you. If you cardlift or scraplift anything I do, I would love to see it and post it. You don't even have to lift from me. I just would like to see what you are making and I might lift from you. So if you send me something know it will be posted. Just send me an email with attachment to stampfest@cox.net. In addition, if I see something on your blog that I think others would like to see, I will link those for this weekly posting too.

Finally, here is some artwork I received from Debbie W. I don't create heritage pages, so I was glad to receive some. I am too busy working on my boys' albums that I haven't done blasts from the pasts. Maybe when I am old (90...LOL! Inside joke with my sister.) and gray (Oh, I am that already.) Tutorial Time - Diagonal Double Pocket Card

Man, Oh, Man! It has taken me forever to get this video uploaded to a host. For some reason YouTube would not take it last night or today. I kept getting a message that it was too big; however, it is only a little over five minutes. In fact, it is the shortest video I have ever created. YouTube has a rule that your video has to be under ten minutes, so I don't understand. After many, many, many attempts and research, I decided to try a new host.

I know some of you can't view my videos on Veoh, so I looked around and found MySpaceTV on Dawn's blog. You remember DAWN! I am always talking about her rockin' blog. Well, I signed up on my space and uploaded my video there. SO....let me know if you can't see this one. I am hoping everyone can, because YouTube doesn't like this one.

I made this card over the weekend and the instructions came out on the Weekly Inkling from SlitCoastStampers. Now, I used their instructions, but I thought it was funny that I made the card and then it was the feature written tutorial in their newsletter this week. What a coincidence?

This card is so much easier than it looks finished. You will be surprised at how quickly you can make these. Of course, they are fun too!
