My Stickease Galore

I needed some thank you cards and decided to make cards with just a paper pack and my stickease. No stamping! Wow! No stamping! These My Stickease "stickers" from CTMH are awesome. They are thicker than a normal sticker, so they look good by themselves. Here is the same card design with three different My Stickease combinations. I used Simple Pleasures paper pack and the matching Simple Pleasures My Stickease. If you don't have any of these wonderful embellishments that match your paper, you should get some soon!

The other accents I used are: edge anchors, designer ribbons rounds and cuttlebug (script).

Tutorial Time - Money Holder Card

This is an awesome card to give someone, if you are giving them money or a check. It can be used for graduation, birthdays, Christmas....the possibilities are endless. I got the instructions from Lisa Somerville. She is a very talented lady! Thanks, Lisa!

I forgot to include the music information on my video...music - Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield.

Happy Birthday closed

Happy Birthday card open

Here is the graduation card I gave my niece, Caitlin, for her his school graduation.

Jeanne, I am not sure if Vicki W. has a blog. I got her name from Jenn. If I find it, I will let you know.

Playful Petals 3D

My sister saved my birthday card and present for this weekend, when we were both visiting our parents for a high school graduation. Now, I know why....this card is gorgeous and she would have had to send it in a box. She did not design this, but she is the best at copying cards and layouts. They always looks just like the original.

This card is from a consultant on the CTMH bulletin board. I showed her this card and she recreated it. I cannot find the consultant's name, so if you know her please, please, please let me know her name. I want to give her credit, because this one is an original. I have made one just to have as a template. The petals are from the stamp set Playful Petals and the greeting is printed on cardstock from her computer. The colors used are dutch blue, sunkiss yellow, black, white daisy and sweet leaf. The inside of the flowers are black buttons and waxy flax.

Isn't it just adorable?

Here is a close up of the flower petals. The instructions read to role the petals around a pencil in order to curl them. The waxy flax adds a great touch to the flower. AWESOME!
Edited to add: Jenn let me know that the original designer of this card is Vicki Wizniuk. Great job, Vicki...You Rock! I hope I spelled your name correctly!

Stay tuned this week for a money card holder for my next tutorial. I have all the materials ready and am just waiting for some quiet time. I hope to get it done tonight for my next post. Crossing my fingers......

Butterfly Collection

I am so glad to be home for a couple of weeks, before we are off for another weekend. I can't wait to get to my scrap table and create.

It is officially summer time for my boys, since they are out of school. I wish the weather knew it was summer. It has been rainy and cold lately, but I am sure the heat will come. Since my boys are not in school, I will complete my tutorials randomly during the week. It will be whenever I get a free, QUIET, moment without them! I hope they sleep in, so I can tape them before they are up. So instead of Tutorial Tuesday, look for Tutorial Time.

I am finally finished with the last card I made for the butterfly series of cards we will be creating at the next card class in June. My sister helped me design this one at my last crop, since she didn't like the first one I made. This one is 3 1/2 x 8. Here is the recipe:

Paper - Paper Garden Level 2, Blush cs, Sweet Leaf cs, Colonial White cs
Stamp sets - Butterflies, From Me To You
Ink - Blush, Petal
Medium - Coloring Pencils
Embellishments - Prisma Glitter (love it), Blush designer ribbon rounds, pop dots (non-CTMH)

All products are CTMH unless noted. Wow! This one definitely looks better in person. You can't see the glitter well unless you click on the card to enlarge it.

Tutorial Time - Big Buckle Card

Hello! I am back from my hiatus and feeling good. My crop this weekend went well and I got a few things created....coming soon! The best thing is...I got a video made on Friday and added the overlays and music on Sunday before my boys got home. YAY! It is finally tutorial time!

I got the instructions on SplitcoastStampers written by The Great...Beate Johns.

This is my only post this week, since we are traveling to Sioux Falls, SD back home for one day then to my home town Fort Madison, IA.

I hope you enjoy this one. I picked the music specifically for this card.

Have a great week and Happy Stamping!

I'm Alive...

BUT...I haven't been creating. I thought I would give you an update, since I haven't been blogging all week. I finally went to the doctor a couple of days ago and he said I have sinusitis, bronchitis and pink eye. Yes, three's a charm. I asked to be put on the best medication to get well the quickest, since I have a crop at my house this weekend. I am feeling better (coughing a lot), but will be back in the swing of things to create all day on Saturday.

I am going to try my hardest to get a video done for next Tutorial Tuesday. We are on vacation next week, so that will be the only post I complete. May is going by soooooo fast! We have so much going on this month that I am trying to enjoy my down time, when I get it. Before June, we want to rebuild both of our decks in our backyard and open our pool while going on vacation and attending my niece's graduation back in my home town. As I have heard...a rolling stone gathers no moss. We got that going for us....LOL!

Thanks for being patient with my blog while I am recuperating and traveling!

I hope you can take time to create!

Happy Stamping!

I Interrupt Blogging

I am sorry to say I will not be blogging for the next few days until I am feeling better. I have either been in bed or on the couch all weekend, so I want to get healthy before I start creating. I am scared of what I would create with how I feel. Probably a lot of get well cards...LOL!

I will try to get a video done some time this week. HOPEFULLY!

Happy Stamping!

Hello

I don't seem to have general cards when I need them, so I decided to make the third card in the Paper Garden series to be a "Hello" card. Sometimes I just need to send pictures or paperwork to someone and a thank you or birthday card just doesn't do it. I took a sympathy card design I made earlier this year and this is what I made:

I used my cuttlebug on this one and swiped the blush embossed images with my white daisy ink pad. I really like that technique. Again, I used prisma glitter on the butterfly. This time I used Gracious Greetings, which was a new sentiment stamp set in the 2008 CTMH spring catalog. I really like this stamp set. The font is so pretty and elegant. I almost forgot to mention I used coloring pencils and my blender pen on this one.

I need to make one more card in this series for a four card workshop this time. These are a little more detailed than my last workshops, since I have been coloring and using glitter. Hope you like!

Paper Garden Butterfly Happy Birthday

I have finally taken the time to work on the cards I am offering for my next card class. I don't know when the card class will be held yet. I think I am going to have to wait until June with all the plans we have for graduations and a small trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

I cardlifted this idea from Brenda Thacker, a fellow consultant and a good friend of mine. We try to scrap together once a month and I look forward to that day. Here is her card:

Here is mine. I added the butterfly, since I have been using them on the other cards in this series. I stamped the butterfly in Petal and a coloring pencil, Petal Pink to color. The ribbon is baby pink organdy and the ink color is Sweet Leaf. I used Birthday Script and Butterflies stamp sets. AND Paper Garden Level 2 paper pack. This pack is growing on me. Very pretty paper! Oh, the best part is prisma glitter on the butterfly. Sparkly!

Magic Moments - Fall

This is the first layout I put together from the Magic Moments scrapbook kit that CTMH has for a promotion in May. This kit is awesome! When I saw this paper and the colors, I knew I had the perfect pictures for it. The kit comes with pre-printed layouts, My Stickease, ribbon, brads and page protectors for the album. By the time I am done playing, I will have twelve double-page layouts completed. You can just use what the kit comes with or dress it up like I did.

I added real buttons to the My Stickease buttons, the 2008 August stamp of the month Today's Date and Distressed Numbers (retired). I used pop dots under the Fall title to make it "pop". I know it is spring, but I couldn't pass up these colors. They are my fav! I have 11 more double layouts to go!

Tutorial Tuesday - Triangle Tri-fold

First, thanks for all the birthday wishes and belated wishes. I had a wonderful birthday this year. Each year just gets better. I love my age, 41, and can't wait to see what the next year brings.

Friday night, took the kids to spend the night at grandparents. Seth and I went out to eat and then we went shopping. Yes, shopping without kids. It was so peaceful. When we were walking out of the mall, we saw a dad getting after his kids and I just smiled. Been there! Then we went to a smoke-free bar, the Ozone and listened to a band. We always end up at that bar, when we go out. My husband plays lead guitar in a band, so we like to go listed to bands.

Saturday, National Scrapbooking Day! I didn't have to pick the boys up until 5 p.m., so I went scrapbook shopping...yeah! I got a new tool and embellishments! You know how I love tools! I will have to show you my new toy in my upcoming tutorials. Then I went to Christi's Uppercase Living party...then more scrapbook shopping. I even made it to confession before I picked up the kids, so I got to cleanse my soul too! What a great two days!

Here is the tutorial for the Just Because card I posted last week. The instructions are from Beate Johns, who posted them on SplitCoastStampers.

Here are the handmade cards I received for my birthday:

My hubby has made me cards ever since we were dating. I keep every one of them. He always makes them show what I am getting for the occasion. This ones shows the map of a Garmin, which I got with all the money I received this year.

This one is from my friend, Terese. This is awesome! Pink and chocolate! All designs are copyright CTMH.

This is from my friend, Christi. She has started making cards and invitations as a side business. The way this one opens is so cute. The flower is a CTMH design.

AND the WINNER is......

Kisha! Kisha was the first one to comment on this blog candy post. I always think the first and last one will never get picked in the random number generator and now I know that isn't true! Kisha wrote, "hey kimi would love to see any artwork. i scrapbook and make cards!!" Congrats, Kisha! Send me your snail mail at stampfest@cox.net and I will send your goodies to you as soon as possible.

Sorry, I didn't post on Friday! It was my birthday (May 2nd) and I was so busy Thursday and Friday getting ready to take our kids to stay with their grandparents and planning on going out with my hubby for my birthday that I didn't have time to create. I had an absolutely wonderful birthday...thanks for all your birthday wishes!
