Christmas Challenge - Dry Embossing

I finally took the time to make my Christmas card this week.  Whew!  I don't know where this week went, but I am lovin' that it is Friday.  Sparkles' Christmas card challenge this week is dry embossing.  I had fun with this one.  I wanted to use the Swiss Dots embossing folder by Cuttlebug.  Then I saw my snowflake stamp set by SU, and the card evolved from these two products.  I don't create monochromatic cards that often, but always love them when I do.

The background paper with the white snowflakes I made with a piece of white daisy cardstock.  This is what I did:

• Stamped my snowflakes with Versamark
• Embossed them with white embossing powder
• Brayered Blue Breeze Spectrum ink over entire cardstock
• Wiped off embossed snowflakes with tissue
• Sponged edge of cardstock with outdoor denim ink
• Ran cardstock through my Big Shot with the embossing folder.

I was inspired to create a winter theme card by neighbor's snowman and the trees this morning were gorgeous.  When I got home from the gym (at 6 a.m.), I ran outside with my camera and snapped some pictures of the beautiful winter wonderland.  Check these out!

Ink: outdoor denim, heavenly blue, dutch blue, Blue Breeze

Accessories: white organdy ribbon, blue polka dot (American Crafts), pop dots (SU), Swiss Dots embossing folder, white embossing powder, light blue embossing powder (unknown), white pearl, 1 1/4" circle punch, scallop circle punch (SU), white opal liquid pearls

Techniques: dry embossing, brayer
