Coloring in PSE

I love to learn new things, especially on the computer.  I finally took the time to learn how to color my digital images in Photoshop Elements.  Of course, Susanna Boyd (of Card of the Week and Paper Craft Planet) was a big help  with this video.  She colors her image in Photoshop CS4.  The only part I saw that is different is where the gradient tool is in PSE.  My gradient tool is underneath the paint bucket in the tool bar.  I have PSE 8, but I think it would be the same other PSE versions.

I love my copics to color (you know that), but I felt like coloring this image Flowered Heart by DZ Doodles in Photoshop, because I wanted to add my sentiment in Photoshop after I colored the image.

After I colored my image in PSE, I printed two images.  I cut out the flowers of the second image with my xacto knife to layer them on the first image.  Love it!

  4. Fabulous! I have to confess, I skimmed by that post thinking it was done in a program I don't have. I will have to go back and watch it, so I can learn to do something neat like you took the time to do.

Thanks so much for sharing! Hope you aren't too buried or frozen in your neck of the woods. They mentioned Omaha on the national news last night and I thought of you!

  5. This is a beautiful card, Kim! You did a fantastic job with PSE! Hmmm...I just might have to give this technique a try. It looks lovely and being able to add a sentiment in ANY font really opens up the possibilities. LOVE the way you did the flowers, too!
