Happy Day

I had a request from Maria (Hi, Maria!) to create a card for a Ustream class using the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set.  Last night, I decided to sit down with that set and Inspired by Nature to create a project for my next Ustream LIVE class this Wednesday, September 15th.  This is what I created:

Tate was doing his homework while I was creating and he was getting frustrated with his math assignment.  I explained to him that I started over and tore apart this card numerous times and he didn't see me getting frustrated.  He said, "Yeah, but that is something you LIKE to do!"  Smart kid!  I had to agree.  Then I told him getting frustrated doesn't help.  He is going to work on that.

I used the direct marker technique to stamp my sunflower image and my stamp-a-ma-jig to place the sentiment by them.  I hope you can join me tomorrow night.  If you would like to stamp with me here is the list of materials I used:

Materials used are stampin’ up! Unless noted
Stamps: inspired by nature, flight of the butterfly, tiny tags
Paper: greenhouse gala, old olive, daffodil delight, chocolate chip, whisper white
Ink: chocolate chip, real red, daffodil delight
Accessories: old olive marker, daffodil delight, chocolate chip marker, early expresso marker, 1/4" old olive, real red brads, dimensionals, hemp twine
Punches: medium jewelry tag
Techniques: direct marker

  1. Lovely card Kim!! I just LOVE that paper pack - every single sheet is "to die for"! (I'm hoarding it!)

You should tell Tate that I love my hobby, but I still get frustrated with my obstacles. Don't tell Tate that I used to get MORE frustrated with math back in the days when I did math. Now I just use the computer to calculate everything. (oh dear!).

    Hugs!

  2. I sure hope Maria is happy with the card you came up with. It's a winner for sure! Great job.

Oh the frustrations of homework. When we are in the throes of it here, it's so hard. But it's a great opportunity to learn how best to deal with it. Sigh. Doesn't make it easier, though, does it?
