Shore Do Love You

Our wedding anniversary is in November, so I thought I better get a card made.  I know it is early, but I felt like using my retired set Crab & Company and it fit the theme.  I don't use my retired sets a lot; however, sometimes they call to me...pick me, pick me!  I love this set and was sad, when it retired.  In fact, the paper I used Thoroughly Modern is retired too.  Seth doesn't care.  In fact, he would NEVER know.  He doesn't follow my blog, but I show him everything I make.  I told him this was for my parents....ha ha!  Their anniversary is this month.

Once I chose the stamp set and papers, I decided to play along with Susanna at Paper Craft Planet's sketch challenge this week.  She has a great sketch for you!  The only thing I added were the little clams at the bottom of mine that weren't on her sketch.  I couldn't pass up putting pearls on them.

Materials used are stampin’ up! Unless noted
Stamps: crab & company (retired)
Paper: thoroughly modern (retired)
Ink: black staz on, taken with teal (retired), crumb cake, rose red, real red
Accessories: basic pearls, hemp twine, aqua painiter
Punches: 2 1/2" circle, 2 3/8" scallop, oval scallop xl, oval large, 3/4" circle, 1/16" circle
Techniques: watercoloring

See the scallop behind my main image?  If my circle is 2 1/2" and my scallop punch is 2 3/8", how does my scallop show?  I punched a few scallops, cut them and arranged them behind the main image to make it fit.  Neat, huh?

Oh, I almost forgot....I watercolored my main image with ink pads and an aqua painter.

  1. Fabulous card, Kim! Lots of things make me smile about this card, it's so bright and joyful. Thanks for the great tip on how to expand a scallop circle. What a terrific idea that is! I will most definitely have to remember that. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Kim: Having come to Florida from Maryland, I just love this little crab. Makes me yearn for those steamed crabs we had back home. LOL This is a really cute card.

  3. HAHA...I know your hubby is going to love this. Such a fun way to remind him of how much he means to you, even when he is a little "crabby"! BWAHAHA. Fantastic watercoloring on this project.

  4. Hi Kim,
Well, aren't you clever!!! I never thought of cutting the image to spread it out a little more. AWESOME idea! (if I understood correctly)!

I love your card and believe your sweetheart will, too, although what he really loves is you.

Happy anniversary if I don't remember! LOL

    Hugs!
