Happy Birthday M&M

This is the second project we will be making at Jeri's party in July.  I got the idea from this card I made at my friend, Kim's house.

Postcard Invites

YAY!  I am done creating all the invites for Jeri's party.  Next, I need to work on the other two projects we will be making.  I love the paper I used for these invites.  It is an additional download you can purchase for only $4.95.  This designer series paper is soooo pretty!

Summertime Splendor Designer Series Paper - Digital Download #121067

I started with a landscape 8 1/2 x 11 blank paper.  Then I added four photo boxes.  I added four different designer series papers to those boxes, and added my text.  Once I had the text written, I changed the color to match the paper.  Then I copied and pasted the text to the other papers and changed the color.  I printed them off on my printer on Whisper White paper and cut them for postcards.

Again, I edited these to remove Jeri's information.  Would you like me to show you how I made these?  If so, email me or comment and I will create a tutorial.  You could make graduation invites, baby announcements, shower invites...you name it!

Online Invite

I am still working on getting ready for Jeri's party in July.  She wanted to send some of her friends an online invite, so I created an online invitation in My Digital Studio.  It is 8 1/5 x 11 flyer that I started with a designer template.  I added a picture of the layout we will be creating, so her guests will get a taste of what we will be creating that evening.  I cloned over her information in Photoshop to show you the invite.  There are so many ways to use My Digital Studio.  Again....LOVE IT!

Next, I will be working on some card invites Jeri will be able to hand out or mail to her family and friends.  I will be back tomorrow to show you those.

Uncle Sam Layout

I have a party scheduled in Chariton, Iowa on Friday, July 16th.  The hostess is Jeri (Hi, Jeri!).  Well, she has asked for a layout, since most of the guests are scrapbookers and a couple cards.  She really liked my stampin' pastels and blender pen tutorial and would like me to show them this technique too.  I am still brainstorming on that project.

Yesterday, I finished the layout we will be creating at her party.  Don't ya just love that Uncle Sam?  I got that idea from Kelly at A Stamp Above.  She created this Uncle Sam for a punch art blog hop.  His mustache, nose and eyebrows are made with the two-step bird punch.  I loved it, and knew I wanted to incorporate it on the July layout for Jeri's party.  I only made a couple changes to mine.  Thanks, Kelly!

I was hoping these are obvious.  They are supposed to be firecrackers.  My son, Tate said they looked like firecrackers, so I left them alone.

Scary Face

I have introduced the Munsters and the Addams Family to my boys and they love them.  We got Netflix in May, and have been watching some great shows from when I was young.  We stream the shows through our Wii.  It is awesome!  I have been able to catch up on movies and shows I haven't seen while running on my treadmill too.

Well, since they have been watching the Munsters, I have wanted to use a creepy font.  I love the font the for Munsters title.  Of course, I love anything Halloween.  I found these pictures of Tate and Tanner after a school carnival.  Perfect for the font I wanted to use.  Even though they had Batman faces, they felt like they needed to make scary faces.  It took me one minute to change Tanner's layout for Tate.  I just deleted Tanner's picture and added Tate's.  The journaling was perfect for both boy's layout.

Mighty Sluggers

I am still in the groove of scrapping every week.  I have to take advantage of it, since I am always far behind with my pictures.  I decided to scrap Tanner's first t-ball game from 2008.  It was just two years ago, and he seems so much bigger now.  He only played one year.  He didn't like it much, and he wanted to do what his big brother was doing...tennis.  It was fun to play with the digital download, Vintage Overlays.  I put two of them on top of each other for the background texture on the Taken with Teal cardstock.  Love it!  Here is a link to the vintage overlays I used.  It is an additional download for only $5.95.  You can use it on My Digital Studio or your own scrapbook program.

Happy Birthday Basket

This is the last project we will be creating at our July club meeting.  The first two are the sunflower card and the quick & cute card I posted earlier.

I felt like playing with my Big Shot, so I got out my Fancy Favor box die and just started creating.  This is what I came up with:

I have been in the mood to play with my sweet treat cups too.  This basket will be given to my mother-in-law for her birthday in July.  Part of her gift is a Scooter's gift card and it will hide perfectly underneath the Red Riding Hood strips of confetti.

A Note of Thanks

Every month at club, I want to create one quick & cute card for club members.  We don't always have a lot of time, when we find out we need a card.  I combined the need for a quick & cute card with wanting to play along with Lori's sketch this week at Paper Craft Planet.  If you play along with the sketch challenge this week, don't forget to tag your card sk061910.

I ran across a card in the Stampin' Success, which is a monthly publication we receive as demonstrators. The card demonstrates using dry embossing with punches or dies, and some of the new colors.  Love it!  It is perfect for this sketch.  I changed one thing from the card in Stampin' Success.  Instead of paper piercing along the bottom of the sentiment, I added a scallop border.

For the dry embossed circles, I used my 1 1/2" circle and 1 1/4" circles punches.  I punched them out on a medium window sheet and used it as my template like the way I did the bird on this card.  It might even work better on the thick window sheets.

Congratulations

Oh, I love happy mail!  I received this card last week from my upline, Kim Bennett.  It is so nice to walk to the mailbox and find a handmade card inside instead of bills or junk mail.  Thanks, Kim!

She made this for me, because I have two new downlines.  YAY!  Hi, Debbie and Denise!  

Isn't this soooo pretty!  Love it!  I think I am going to have to CASE this one.

You Are My Sunshine

Pals Paper Arts is another blog I love to visit every day.  I like to see their challenges and hope to play along, but don't always get to.  When I saw this week summer theme challenge, I knew I had to create something.  I have had a card is my head (not literally...hee hee), since the occasions mini came out in January.

There was a new stamp set to use with the sweet treat cups called Something Sweet. I I loved it and had to have it!  I already owned Sweet Centers and knew these two sets would work well together.  I haven't played with Something Sweet  until today.  Great news!  Both of these sets are in the new catalog available July 1st.  Here is the card that has been just a thought until today:

Yes, those are sunflower seeds in the treat cup.  I put a door inside the card, so the seeds could be removed without tearing the card apart. I almost forget!  Isn't the designer paper pretty!  It is the new Greenhouse Gala.  The yellow I used is the new Daffodil Delight.  Oh, the new catty is awesome!

Color Challenge #97

I am so glad I got the time to play along with the Color Throwdown Challenge this week.  The colors to use are Not Quite Navy, Certainly Celery and Cameo Coral.  I looked in my paper stash and had all of them, so I started creating.  I even got to use some NEW products that will be available in the new catalog on July 1st.  Yippee!  The new products I used on this card are Perfect Punches stamp set, Greenhouse Gala designer series paper, and Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions.  The pearls I used for this one are not SU!; however, we will be carrying pearls in three sizes starting July.  Awesome!

Happy Birthday

YAY!  I have finished the last two sketches for the June Scrappy Sunday challenges hosted by Jen.  I combined sketches c & d, so I could create another two-page layout.  This time I used the photos from Tate's 9th birthday.  No, I am not caught up to this year's pictures.  Over a year ago, I decided to stop scrapping chronologically, and have been so glad I did.  I just take of look at my pics and scrap whatever I feel like at the time.  I got burned out on always thinking I was sooo far behind.  In addition, sometimes I didn't feel like scrapping what was next.

Look at the picture of Tate and Tanner hugging on the first page.  They are such great buddies.  I love the challenge of creating a sketch using My Digital Studio with the supplies SU! offers.  Again, I made a couple minor changes to tie my pages together.

There are some new digital download for My Digital Studio.  Oh, I can't wait to use these.  Don't forget...you can use these downloads on other programs that supports .jpg, .png files and layers.
