Elements of Style

I hope all of you who celebrated Labor Day had a great weekend.  Tanner had a wonderful birthday that was extended a day, since they didn't go to school on Labor Day.  He chose Valentino's to eat his birthday lunch. It is a great buffet right by our house.  On Sundays, they have brunch, so they was something for everyone.

Then we came home and he opened presents.  Some of his favorite gifts were a box of Legos (704 pieces).  You would think this would be a huge pile of Legos, but it really isn't.  In addition, he likes his two Wii games (Indian Jones II and Boom Blox) and a SpongeBob game for Diji.  He racked it in from both sides of the family.

This was the last card we made in our advanced brayer class; however, I have one more to show you (my favorite) tomorrow.  This was the most challenging, because we used our brayer at an angle and we stamped the hummingbird and flourish first.  Then we heat embossed them, so the ink would not cover them.  It is an added technique to brayering.  Is that even a word?  Brayering?  Oh, well it works here for me...LOL!

I have club this week... AND...I get to go stamp with my friend, Kim.  It is going to be a busy week.  I start volunteering in both Tate and Tanner's classrooms and my parents are coming on Friday for the weekend.  I don't think I will be able to get a class ready for Ustream this week, because I need to ensure the chat room works for me first.  I will let you know.

BTW, it looks like Wednesday night at 9 p.m. CST is has the most votes for Ustream classes.  If you haven't voted, there are just a few days left.  It is on the top of the left sidebar of my blog.  Thanks!

Mountain Reflection

Today, is the first of three cards I made in the advanced brayer class taught by Michelle Zindorf.  When I came into the classroom and saw her example with that moon reflection in the water, I thought there is no way I am going to be able to make that.  Well, I was wrong.  I did it!  I am so amazed at the result.  Michelle is such a great teacher.  My goal is to try another one of her cards by myself this weekend.  Tanner's birthday is Sunday; however, I am going to try to sneak some crafting time before then.

I used the flourish from the stamp set Elements with Style in the front and highlighted the flowers with a white gel pen.  Isn't it cool how it looks 3D?  Love it!
