Fun in the Sun

Here is the layout for my July scrapbook club. We meet this Saturday and will complete this two page layout and crop until midnight. I wanted to use the same color scheme I used for the card club here. This is the Level 2 Boom-Di-Ada paper pack, which is very bright and cheery. Since it is summer and the colors are so bright, I wanted to make a summer layout. The two mats I have for this layout are for a 5 x 7 photo and a 4 x 6 photo. Club members will be able to make whatever size mat they need for their pics.

These layout ideas on from CTMH's Reflections book (pages used are listed in the recipe below). I think this is my favorite scrapbook program they sell right now. I love combining the one page ideas with each other. This book gives you cutting dimensions and different photo options. If you don't have any of their scrapbook programs, this is the one I suggest to buy.

Here is a close up for the first page title. I used various fonts from CTMH's chipboard letters. I like combining different fonts for "fun" titles. The paper flowers are the perfect color for this layout. I punched out a hollyhock flower to add to the middle with a sunflower brad. I sponged the chipboard with sunny yellow and then sponged the edge in sunflower ink. Don't ya just love ric rac?

Here is a close up for the second page title. I didn't have a sun stamp, so I improvised. I used the flowers from the Gratitude stamp set and layered them with pop dots. Love it! See the photo mat? I got this idea from the Reflections book (CTMH). They cut a bunch of paper and tucked it behind the photo mat to frame the picture. This was so easy and adds a great frame for a special picture.

Tutorial Time - Tri-fold Card

This little card is another one I got from Splitcoaststampers.  Every time I need something new, I try them first.  ENJOY!

Measurements:

Card base 4 x 11, score at 3 1/2 and 7 inches

Punches - SU 1 3/8" circle, SU scallop punch, SU slit punch, 1/8" handheld punch

Gratitude with Attitude

I have people ask me all the time how to make a card better.  Here are two cards I made using that same Evensong level one kit I used on yesterday's layout.  The first one is a cute card where I didn't add anything to make it pop.  I used the new Gratitude stamp set and a design from the Originals book on page 82 named Buckle.  If you want to make a quick card, this one looks just fine.  

I decided to make the same card still using the same level one kit.  Boy, the level one kits have a lot to offer.  Hee Hee!  This time I added the "fun stuff".  Now, the first card looks good.....BUT the second card looks better!  It is Gratitude with Attitude!  LOL!  I added:

• Sorbet grosgrain ribbon
• Bling (always good)
• New England Ivy brads
• Tulip photo hanger

Did I tell you how much I love these level ones?  Of course, I did!  You should take a second look at them or if this is the first time you look at them....take a long look.  They are worth it!

Oops!  I almost forgot to answer Lori's question about using conchos with ribbon.  Remember this card Treasure Life.  I put a concho on the left side in the middle and threaded the ribbon through the concho to tie it.  To use a concho, you will need some type of push pad.  Put the push pad underneath the paper you will adhere the concho in and push the concho down until the prongs go through the paper.  Sometimes it can be a little hard if the paper is thick.  Once you pushed it through the paper, turn the paper over and fold the prongs out, so you can punch a hole through the middle.  To fold the prongs out, you can use your little hammer or the back of an eyelet setter.  Once the concho is set, I punched a hole with the through the middle to thread my ribbon through.  I hope this is clear.  If not, let me know and I might make a video on this or take pictures of doing this step by step.  Let me know!

Counting My Blessings Evensong

Here are the last two cards I made with the Creative Basics Evensong Collection. Both of these designs are from the new Originals book. The card on the left is from design Upper Level Focus on page 42 and the card on the right is from design Triple, Triple on page 12.

What a Wonderful World

Today, I was busy getting ready for my open house again...AND one of my club members, Bev, came over to cut all the materials for the make-n-take. What a sweetie! Thanks, Bev! I was able to work on the project I am going to show you on Thursday for my video tutorial. YAY!

Here is another card from the Creative Basics Evensong Collection. Yes, I used my NEW Originals card program for the design. I used the one on page page 102 called Balance It Out. For this card, I used the reverse side of the Evensong paper. Did I mention how much I LOVE the new paper, because it is has a pattern on both sides?.....Yippee!

I used the new stamp set Gratitude that goes with the Evensong Collection and the sentiment is from the Because of You stamp set. Hey Chris, if you are reading this I really like the new Gratitude set....yes, yes, I know. LOL! The flower on this card is my favorite flower on the Gratitude set. Aren't the polka dots, cute? Of course, bling always looks good.
