Valentine Nugget Box

You can tell I haven't created video tutorials in a while.  I forgot to turn off the phone, so of course, someone called and Tanner forgot he isn't supposed to come into the room until I tell him I am finished.  Oh, well!  I finally got this one made this morning.  I apologize it is a long one....13 minutes.  After I finished editing it, I didn't have time to divide it into two videos.

This is the project we made at club this month.  I wanted it to be simple, so we could re-create as many as we wanted for Valentine's Day gifts.  So club members...here it is again.  Now, you have the video on top of the instructions.

Here is the link to the cutting diagrams for a bunch of different nugget boxes at SCS.  I used the 8 short version.  Go to the link for all the measurements and the measurements are listed on the video.

FUN in the SUN

It has been so cold here that I decided to play with a summer theme stamp set.

This is the latest theme party I finished last night. The design was created by Jena DeVries, Independent CTMH Consultant. She used different pattern paper and I changed the designs slightly to work for me. Jena designed a great summer theme party.

Products used:

Paper - Laid Back Level 2, Dutch Blue, Vineyard Berry, Sunflower, White Daisy
Ink - Dutch Blue, Sunflower, Vineyard Berry
Stamp sets - Do Nothing, Boutique Alphabet, The Works Alphabet
Accessories - Sparkles (bling), Black grosgrain ribbon, White Daisy photo clips, Buttercup organdy ribbon, Sunflower sassy strands, Coluzzle tag, Black brads

I borrowed my good friend, Debbie's stamp set to make this....THANKS, Debbie!

Back To School

I took the usual first day of school pictures today and got them on a layout. Yes, I did! Don't think for a minute I am caught up with my scrapbooks. NO WAY! I don't have preschool or kindergarten school pictures scrapped yet. I should have done them first; however, I was downloading the pictures from today. I thought why not just get them on a layout too! I created this two-page layout when I went to my sister's a couple of weeks ago.

The first day of school went better than I expected, but Tate did cry at breakfast and he said he cried a little when he got in his classroom. Hopefully, that is the end of it. I feel bad for him, since he dislikes change so much. If you click on the first page of the layout below you will see Tate is smiling before school, but when he is standing by his teacher he is not happy. Eventually, he will love going to school just like he did last year. In addition, notice Tanner had to put his backpack on and stand by Tate even though he doesn't start until Monday.

I tell ya...the Cherish and Imagine books from CTMH are my favorite. I use them to create pages and then when I have pictures...viola! I am done with a layout. I used to always scrap chronologically, but I am not so hung up on that anymore. Eventually, I will get to all my pictures....eventually! I am not so stressed to get my pictures done, since I changed my scrapping method. I choose which ones fit the layout the best.

Supplies used: Paper - School Zone paper pack, School Zone My Stickease, Sunflower cardstock, Outdoor Denim cardstock, Cranberry cardstock; Ink - Cranberry; Stamp sets - School Zone, Essential Alphabet, Sans Small Caps, The Works Alphabet; Tools - Empressor Guide and Empressor Tool.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

BUGS & KISSES

I see so many cards with this cute little saying that I had to make a couple of them for my boys to send them to their grandparents. Little Treasurers is the perfect stamp set for this. All products are CTMH unless otherwise noted. I made both of these cards with all scraps from my scrap container, so that is why there is a Clover Meadow card base and a Buttercup card base. You know how I love to use up my scraps.

On both cards I used the leather paper technique on the Cocoa cardstock. The first thing I did was spray the cardstock with water and then crumbled the paper into a ball. After I unfolded and smoothed it out, I swiped my Cocoa ink pad across it to make the ridges stand out.

Then I took Weathered Backgrounds and stamped it in Orange ink on the Orange cardstock. After attaching this to the card I stamped the jar, the fireflies and butterfly from Little Treasures in Black ink. I used the following markers: Grey Wool, Grey Flannel, Sunny Yellow, Desert Sand, Clover Meadow, Citrus Leaf, Brown Bag and silver pen (non-CTMH). I daubed the White Daisy cardstock with Clover Meadow and matted it on Buttercup cardstock.

I stamped BUGS from Bugs in Cocoa ink and KisseS and & from The Works Alphabet (2007 April stamp of the month) in Cocoa ink. I stamped "&" on Clover Meadow cardstock and matted on Buttercup cardstock. I finished off the card with Clover Meadow gingham ribbon (retired) and Buttercup brads.

On this card I used the same techniques and stamp sets I just switched the colors from Clover Meadow to Buttercup when it was appropriate to keep the color scheme.

Caught A Bug?

I copied this design from the 2006 Summer Idea Book. It is a Get Well card, but since it is one of a kind I am not sure how soon I will part with it. I thought the design was cute and wanted to copy it. The only difference is I filled the jar with Bugs instead of using sculpting foam to make one. This stamp set is another must, since I have two boys. Especially since my oldest likes to pick bugs up, and bring them to me so I can see them.

In addition, I used The Works Alphabet (2007 February Stamp of the month) and Lazy Days Level 2 paper pack. Accessories used are metal-rimmed tags, spring craft buttons, Dimensional Elements Classic Alphabet, and Buttercup brads. I edged the Crystal Blue and Bamboo cardstock with black ink and I sanded the Garden Green cardstock.

I have two gatherings to prepare for this week, so will have to pull something for the archives to share with you for the rest of the week.

Take time to create!

Mother's Day card

Hello!

Sorry I didn't get a posting done for yesterday! From traveling home, unpacking, doing laundry and opening our pool yesterday...I just couldn't get it done. I still have one more posting for my scrapbook room and I will submit that for tomorrow.

Here is the card I gave my mom for Mother's Day. I used our purse template from Coluzzle and decorated it with Garden Green cardstock and Elegant Bouquet Level 2 paper packet. In addition, I used spring beads and olive waxy flax. I stamped with Elegant Floral and The Works Alphabet (2007 February Stamp of the month). The inside was stamped with "Happy Mother's Day".

Have a great day and Happy Stamping!
