This Side Up

When I was at my sister's Friday night, I made this card using the Post Office set from Molly Stamps.  Then I go to my Google Reader on Saturday morning and read Lynn's post and she made this card.  Lynn is a fellow designer for Molly Stamps.  Great minds think alike...LOL!  We both used the post office set out of the box for a sunny, flower card.  Isn't her card cute?  So when you see a set try to think outside the box and how you could use it.  That is the fun part about stamping.

You Have To Make One

I made a few of these for ladies at Tate's school.  Eveyone wondered how I got their chocolate and gift cards into the can.  It was so funny!  It was fun watching them try to figure it out.  You have to make one of these for someone.  It is better than just putting a gift card in a card.  

This one is a Campbell's Chucky soup can.  The bottom picture is the top of the can.  I had to cover NFL writing on the top, so I used coordinating cardstock and punch out a semi circle for the tab.

When I saw this pattern paper, Lazy Days (retired),  in my "stash" I knew Today's Forecast from Molly Stamps would work perfectly!

The sentiment on the Lilac Mist cardstock reads "thanks for all you do".

I am still really busy with Teacher/Staff appreciation week, so this is the only post I have time for this week.  I will be done with taxes and appreciation week soon....YAY!

roll with it

 I haven't been able to get the phrase "roll with it" out of my head, so I decided to make a spinner card with Today's Forecast and Wings and Things: Small.

So the sentiment together is "Anything is possible...roll with it!"  Anything is possible is from the Wings and Things: Small stamp set and roll with it is printed from my computer.  Of course, Mr. Smiley (one of my favs) is from Today's Forecast.

Loves Me...Love Me Not

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Tate and Tanner loved opening their Valentine Day pop top cans. I think they liked the money more than the candy. Tanner carried around his $5.00 bill for a while before putting it in his piggy bank. He needed help opening the frige to put his milk away, because he had the $5.00 bill in his other hand and wouldn't put it down. Either he like it a lot OR he thought one of us would take it...LOL!

I thought of this flower card when I was trying to decide which Molly Stamps I was going to use this week. I made another flower card with the Today's Forecast here. This set is great to add that perfect face to your project. There are faces for about every mood you want to create.

I used the new Unforgettable Level 2 paper pack from CTMH and I couldn't find the stamp I need or the letters little enough to stamp on the petals, so I used a cocoa marker and wrote it myself. I think that personalizes it! Boy, my DH is going to get a lot of cards this year!

I stamped the love smitten Today's Forecast face on vanilla cream cs (CTMH) in cocoa ink and colored the heart eyes in with a blush marker. The big pink flower comes from the Big Pinks paper flower collection from CTMH. They come in pink and white. I think this was white and I inked it with one of their pink inks. I don't remember which one, because it was a long time ago. It didn't match the pink flower that comes in the packet, so I must have altered it for a project and changed my mind. It came in handy for this one, because it matches the flowers in the designer paper perfectly and had a white edge on some of the petals.

I feel like a schmuck! Remember my friend, Jeanne, sent me a beautiful card and neckwarmer...love it! I have it on now. It keeps me soooo warm! Well, my friend, Barb, sent me the little treat basket below and the beautiful card for Valentine's Day. Thanks so much, Barb! Why am I a schmuck? I didn't do anything for them for Valentine's Day. I was so happy to get a package in the mail. What a nice surprise! Barb's card is beautiful and the basket is so cute! It has yummies in it too! I have awesome friends! Now, I am going to have to surprise both of you some day. I am so thankful we found each other through bloggin'!

Anything is possible

I had so much fun making this card today.  I embossed the butterfly wings three times before I decided on this one.  This set of wings and sentiment "Anthing is possible" is from the Wings and Things - Small set made by Molly Stamps.  I know the groundhog saw his shadow this week and we have six more weeks of winter, but we are supposed to have 40 and 50 degree weather for the next few days.  That will make it feel like spring, so I think of butterflies.

I really like the paper I used for this card too!  It is the new paper pack, Unforgettable, from the CTMH 2009 Spring Idea Book.  I love the colors and the flowers.

See the pink lace trim I used on the top and bottom of the brown, flowered paper.  These are so pretty!  I got them from Diane, owner and designer of Deedle-dee Doodles.  I adhered the lace trim on the card with liquid glass and wrapped it around the back so it wouldn't fray.  I wish you could see this card in person, because the textures are so nice.

Here is a close-up (mom cam) of the butterfly.  I stamp the wings in versamark on pattern paper from Unforgettable and embossed them with gold embossing powder.  I used retired My Accents beads from CTMH for the body and check out the antennas.  Remember when I told you my mom found a hug stash of ric rac and ribbon at a garage sale.  I got the pink and gold ric rac from that, thanks Mom!  It matched perfectly!  The ric rac was from JC Penney and it only cost 13 cents at the time.  Now, you know how old that ribbon is and it is in all the original packaging.  Thanks again, MOM!  Oh, I just noticed how you can see the lace trim really well on this pic too!  If you are interested in purchasing a package of lace trim in various colors, please email me at stampfest@cox.net and I will contact Diana.

Since our theme this month at Paper Craft Planet is Friends/Friendship I wanted to tie this card to that theme.  When I thought of the theme and saw the sentiment I used on the front, I thought finishing the card "With Friends".  Boy, I have been using my printer a lot lately.  I used cocoa color (R-117, G-104, B-87) and Black Chancery.  I print my sentiment on regular printer paper, so I knew where it will be and then I attached my cardstock over the words with dotto (removale adhesive) and print again.  Perfect every time!  I got this idea from Diana Gibbs, a fellow Paper Craft Planet DT member.  Thanks, Diana!

Finally, I got better pictures of this card I made for Molly Stamps.  My DH liked this one!  Woohoo!  Most of the time, he just says that's nice.  I like this card, because I used the confidential image from the Post Office set.  This set was intended for your packages and making labels.  I have had fun incorporating them onto my cards.  

Does the heart look familiar?  This is the first heart I made to go on the Fragile card I created with the Post Office set here.  After I made this heart, I wanted a bigger one for the Fragile card.  I set this heart on my craft desk and I kept thinking of how I could use it.  When I looked through my Molly Stamps for inspiration, I knew how I could use them together.

I like the game spinners from Tim Holtz.  I got the idea of using them through a heart from Wendy, another Paper Craft Planet and Molly Stamp Design Team member.  Thanks, Wendy!

I wanted to decorate the inside of the card, because I used a dark base.  In addition, I wanted to use my new Nestabilities Labels One die.  I really like this die set.  I carried the same pattern paper to the inside of the card for continuity.  I don't have a stamp with this sentiment, so I printed this from my computer again.  I used Black Chancery font in cocoa color (R117, G104, B87).

Fragile

The idea for this card has been rolling around in my head for about one month now. I had to make it, so I would quit thinking about it. When I saw the stamp set Post Office from Molly Stamps, I wanted to incorporate them into cards too. The first one that caught my eye was the fragile image. Right away I thought of a heart. I didn't want to use the typical colors for Valentine's Day, so when I saw this pattern paper from the Sarsaparilla I knew that was going to be my color scheme.

I am not sure if the Twilight series has effected my color choice, but this one seems a little on the dark side. LOL! BTW, I am half done with the fourth and final book. OH MY! How many of you Twilight readers guessed about Jacob? and how soon? I don't want to say anymore, because I don't want to spoil it for you if you aren't on the fourth book. I guessed really early that would happen. Okay, back to my card!

This is the same chipboard heart I used on my last card, but I covered this one with barn red cardstock that I embossed with heart blocks cuttlebug folder. Yes, I used waxy flax again. I love that stuff. Once I stamped the fragile image, I colored the impact in barn red marker and punched it out with a tag punch from SU.

I sentiment "handle with care" was printed from my computer. I used the font Rock It that I found on a free font site. That is another thing I learned from my JessicaSprague.com class. I didn't know how to download free fonts online and have them appear in Microsoft Word. It is really fun to search for fonts now.

Oh, I had someone ask about showing you how to color one item on a black & white or sepia photo. First, I don't think I could explain it on paper. Second, I wouldn't want to make a video on it and take away from Jessica Sprague's classes. Her classes are filled with step by step videos. If you want to learn how to use Photoshop Elements, you should take her digi classes. Even if you don't want to digi scrap, you will learn so much about your computer program.

I probably won't have anything to post on Friday, because I will be getting ready to go to a crop that night. My upline has invited us to her house for dinner and crop. That is so nice! Thanks, Chris! I have a customer who ordered 30 cards from me, so I need to gather all my supplies to make those cards. It is hard for me to remember everything to bring when I am used to creating at home.

Paper Dolls

I had fun creating this one this morning.  I knew I needed to show you one of my Molly Stamps this week and I hadn't played with Paper Dolls.  

I really liked how this card turned out.  I just kept building and adding until I was happy with it.  This paper is a new Level 2 pack from CTMH called That's Amore.  Love it!  Oh, I almost forgot to mention I paper pieced the skirt.  I have never used this technique before and will definitely use it one again.

Mom cam!  Look at the corduroy buttons.  Aren't they cute?  These are blush color and are made by CTMH.

Here is the inside.  I have been getting into decorating the inside lately, so it takes a little longer to finish.  I like it!

Happy Birthday, Connie!

and Debbie H too!  Today, January 9th, is my sister's birthday and my friend, Debbie is celebrating her birthday today too!  I made a birthday card to post today for the occassion, especially since both of them are scappers.

To celebrate Connie's birthday, because she is my #1 fan and #1 critic (LOL!), I am going to be giving away some blog candy.  See the bottom of this post for details.

Here is Molly from Molly Stamps holding her scissors again.  I stamped a few a these and colored her skin and hair when I was on vacation.  I leave her dress uncolored until I decide what paper to use.  I can't believe I got a close match to this CTMH paper.  The paper is one from the Perfect Day Level 2 pack.  It has all the new CTMH colors.  The copics I used for her dress are BG72 Ice Ocean, R24 Prawn and R27 Cadmium Red.  I will remember these colors for the next time I want to use Perfect Day.  

I used my own handwriting for the first part of the sentiment on the outside "Have a" and used the Let's Get Together stamp set for the inside sentiment.  So the card reads, "Have a scraptacular birthday."

I have been trying to decorate the inside of my cards, so the inside isn't so boring.  The flowers on the inside are from the Let's Get Together set also.

Happy New Year

Wow!  This year flew by....you know the saying, "Time flies when you are having fun!".  I had a lot of fun in 2008 blogging with all of you.  I am so glad I am hooked on blogging and paper crafting.  I have learned so much this year and have been blessed to have great blogging friends.

This is the last post you will get from me until next week (year).  We are off to celebrate New Year's Eve and another Christmas at my parents.  Since my DH is in a band, he always has a gig on New Year's Eve and this year it is by his home town.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Today, I wanted to share with you another card I made with Molly Stamps.  This stamp set caught my eye even before I became a design team member.  I love the sentiments on this set.  You can make any sentiment with the words stamp and scrap.  For this card, I used "Let's get together for a scraptacular" and the inside reads "New Year!".  Connie go to your mailbox....this one is on its way.

Below is a close up.  I have been staring at my metal rings the past few days and wanted to use one, so I punched a one inch circle and used the flower image from this set and stamp time.  I tied it on the main image with Indian Corn Blue waxy flax from CTMH.

See the ric rac ribbon.  I got a roll (3 yds) of this at Michaels in clearance bin for 49 cents.  Yes, only 49 cents.  I love looking in the clearance bin.

This is in inside of my card.  The sentiment is from Say It In Style stamp set from CTMH.

Do Not Open 'Til Christmas

I love the holidays, but it sure has kept me from stamping!  I did take the time to play with the Post Office stamp set from Molly Stamps.  This set has commonly used postal remarks: fragile, do not bend, this side up and confidential.  There is also a touch of the holidays with the stamp image I used on this gift tag.  

I used Martha Stewart's star border punch.  I think these look like snowflakes too, so I punched them out in white daisy cs and adhered them to the bottom.  Of course, I had to dress them up with some bling.

Let's Get Together

My PTA Presidency has turned into a full-time job this week.  We are holding a Holiday Gift Shop at school for the kids to shop for family, friends and teachers.  Edison has not done one of these before and it was my idea, so I want to make sure it is successful.  The kids are having a blast, so I am sure we will do it again.  

Soooooo, I have not had the time to play in my room....bummer!  I did make the time to use my Molly Stamps this week and I decided to play with my copics more.  I still have a loooooong way to go with my coloring.  As they say...practice makes perfect.  I don't think I will ever get perfect, but I will get better (hopefully).  

I wanted to make a simple card, since I didn't have a lot of time after coloring.  I used my snowflake embossing folder for the bottom and my nestabilities for the oval and scallop oval.  

The inside of my card reads....Let's Get Together.

I don't know if I will have time in the next two days to stamp either.....I am getting withdrawals.  I can't wait for Christmas break for the kids, because I am going to take a break from PTA too.

Happy Birthday Flower

I have been wanting to make a Mr. Smiley flower for a long time.  I got these flowers as a bouquet at Hobby Lobby, so I could make pens in a flower pot.  You know...the ones you see at banks, etc.  I had some left over, so I pulled them apart to use on cards.  I love how the flower frames Mr. Smiley from Today's Forecast at Molly Stamps.  

In addition, I got some awesome paper from Paper Temptress.  The piece I used is the orange sparkle paper that I embossed with the happy birthday cuttlebug folder.  You can't see it in the picture, but this paper has a sparkle to it.  Hence the name sparkle paper....LOL!  I love it!  I orange goes perfectly with the orange in the flower.

AND....I used my BIG BITE!  This is only the second time I has used my big bite and I am so glad I got it.  It puts gromlets on so easily.  I know it is the holiday season, but I had to make this cheery card.  I was inspired by Today's Forecast and the flower.  This is what I ended up creating.  I love starting from scratch and just piecing items together and until viola!

I have been taking pictures of the cards from a different angle, because I like the way it show you the 3-d look!  The inside of the card reads, "smile...it's your day!"

Miss U

From all the cards I have posted with Today's Forecast and Quirky Alphabet from Molly Stamps, this is my sister's favorite.  She likes it, because she has two kids in college and she sends them a card every month.  These stamp sets are so much fun to play with.  I know I have said that before, and I am sure I will say it again.  I have another idea for Mr. Smiley, but I just haven't created it yet.

Wings on Things - Believe

Oh, how I wish you could see this card in person.  The picture does not do it justice.  The wings sparkle with prisma glitter and look so pretty.  The video today is filled with tips on how I made this card.  ENJOY!

Molly Monday

I am posting this on Monday, so that is why it is Molly Monday.  It seems like I post my Molly Stamps at the beginning of the week.  Hmmm!  Probably because when I got them, I started playing with Today's Forecast and Quirky Alphabet first and couldn't stop coming up with great card ideas.  I love these guys!

My sister, who is my biggest fan and critic, wants me to start using the other sets I got from Molly Stamps.  I played with Wings on Things: Big and Wings on Things: Small today, but I am not done with my card yet.  You will have to wait for another post.  BTW, go a little softer on my sister regarding the Silhouette paper pack.  LOL!  I told she was crazy when she told me she didn't like it.  This is the first paper pack, she hasn't wanted to buy.  She is my best customer and likes a lot of color..AND she likes everything I make with it, especially the last "Thanks for the Memories" card.

I always need thank you cards and since gratitude is our theme at Paper Craft Planet, I thought I would show you this thanks card.  I pop dotted Mr. Smiley on this one too.  Can you say I love pop dots?  After stamping the Quirky Alphabet in sweet leaf, I colored the letters in buttercup to match the Good Times pattern paper.  I used the same buttercup marker to color Mr. Smiley's face.  This card is 3 1/2 x 8 and the corners are rounded.  I hope this card makes the person receiving it smile!
