September Scrapbook Club & Crop

Here is the two page layout my Scrapbook Club will be making in September. I to show them the Caprice paper, because it is retiring at the end of the year. If they want to purchase it, they will need to as soon as they can. Once the retirement list is released, it is only while supplies last.

I didn't add a title this time, because the possibilities are endless. This way the club members can choose a title after they add their pictures. I got these layout ideas from the Reflections Scrapbook Program from CTMH. The left page is on page 36 called Bottom Border - Photo Focus. The right page is on page 41 called Sidebar - Main Frame. I am so glad I got this scrapbook program. It is my favorite!

In addition to the Caprice Level 2 paper pack, I used Connections stamp set, clear buttons, chocolate waxy flax, antique gold brads, antique gold gromets and chocolate grosgrain ribbon. We will be using my Big Bite in class. I just love all the gadgets we get to play with when creating!

Make a WISH

This is the layout my club members are going to make this Saturday night. I love this paper! It is from the Good Times Level 2 pack from CTMH. I got the layouts from the Reflections Scrapbook Program that CTMH sells. I used the layouts on pages 44 & 45. I love this program, because it has so many one page layouts that you can combine with each other to make great double page layouts.

I used chipboard letters for the WISH and stamped them with a polka dot in chocolate, sweet leaf, twilight and buttercup.

Check out the flower on this page. I love using my punches and this is definitely easier than it looks. I got this from Donna at SCS. Here is her tutorial. Fun to make! The tags that were left from making the flower, I used on the side of the layout for more embellishments.

FAMILY - TOGETHER

I am trying to get my sister to come over and see me...SOOOO I made her a two page layout to entice her to my house. She has to come visit me to get it. Do you think it will work?

I used the new Sasparilla Level 2 paper pack with coordinating cardstock...twilight, barn red, desert sand and black. The title is done with the "E" sized Rustic Alphabet. I stamped them and then cut them out. I distressed the cardstock with black chalk ink and added black accessories. I finally used the clear buttons I have and I really like them. I punched a 3/4 inch circle and ran those through my Xyron and then attached them to the buttons. Of course, I used the wonderful waxy flax. I would never thread buttons without that wonderful product.

I stamped on the twill with black ink. I used the solo alphabets and choose words that fit the theme. I used solo c, solo l and solo m. These stamp sets are great for adding a variety of stamped images or words to your layouts and cards.

Jeanne, since you asked I took a picture of the deck we just finished. Now, we are tearing up the deck right outside our back door. I hope this one is done by the 4th of July. We'll see!

I took this picture from the deep end of the pool. We just placed our chairs and tables on this side, so we could get everything off the old deck to tear it up, so it isn't the nicest set-up right now. I spend most of my time in the white lounge chairs. LOL!

Going Vertical

This is the layout I did for Tate's album, which is the same design as I made for Tanner's "Pump It Up" layout. I cannot believe how high Tate swings. It makes me queezy watching him. Click on the layouts to see him flying high and having fun. I really like the chipboard arrow and flourish that seems to fit the theme of this layout.

Pump it UP

As I wrote in my earlier post....I am on a scrapbooking kick right now. I was looking through my new Creating Keepsakes magazine (July 2008) and found a layout on page 36 that went perfectly with the pictures I just took of my boys swinging in the backyard.

Tanner (3 years old) finally learned how to "pump" on his own, so I don't have to push him on his swing anymore. YAY! ....and Tate swings so high he is vertical. I scrapped Tanner's layout last night and loved how it turned out. It was a simple layout without a lot of embellishments. I am into simple scrapbooking lately, so this layout was perfect. I think it showcases all the pictures perfectly. You can click to enlarge the layouts in order to see them better.

I used chipboard letters and arrows from the CTMH collection. In addition, I used My Stickease letters for the first part of the title. The paper is from School Zone and the My Stickease is from Hollydays. I couldn't believe these matched so well.
I have card class tonight, so I might not have time to create anything new. I am working on Tate's layout now. It will be the same format, but just a little different.

Happy Fourth

I have been in the mood to scrapbook lately and I need to get some pages done fast. I am soooo far behind. I know, I know...who isn't? I found some completed pages at Michael's that were so cheap I thought I would get a few and doctor them up with some of my stamps. Here is one of them:

I used Charm Uppercase stamp set on the title HAPPY FOURTH. In addition, I used Celebrate America stamp set (retired) for the stars around the pictures and land of the free. Finally, I stamped the year with Tiny Typewriter Alphabet stamp set (new).


I find myself trying to get caught up with my scrapbook pages, since I spend so much time on cards now. I will have to use quick an easy layouts whenever possible.

Magic Moments - Fall

This is the first layout I put together from the Magic Moments scrapbook kit that CTMH has for a promotion in May. This kit is awesome! When I saw this paper and the colors, I knew I had the perfect pictures for it. The kit comes with pre-printed layouts, My Stickease, ribbon, brads and page protectors for the album. By the time I am done playing, I will have twelve double-page layouts completed. You can just use what the kit comes with or dress it up like I did.

I added real buttons to the My Stickease buttons, the 2008 August stamp of the month Today's Date and Distressed Numbers (retired). I used pop dots under the Fall title to make it "pop". I know it is spring, but I couldn't pass up these colors. They are my fav! I have 11 more double layouts to go!

SMILE with pics

Hello! I decided to show you the SMILE layout with pictures. I think layouts always look better with personality. Besides the pictures, I added ribbon to the second page photo hanger.

NO STAMPING

This layout was completed entirely without any stamping. Oh My! I actually did it! I can't believe I finished a layout with no stamps. I am so happy to know it can be done. Or at least I can do it with the help of my new little friend....My Stickease!

Here is the layout we made with the Free Spirit pack that is supposed to be for boys. YEAH! Finally, more boy "stuff". I can never find enough paper and embellishments for my boy scrapbooking stash.

We played with the creative clips that were new to the CTMH collection this year. I hadn't used them yet and was happy to see you don't have to do a lot to dress them up, if you don't want to. We used the My Stickease on the tops of both clips and slip them under the picture mat. Can you believe it? I didn't add anything to this page, once I got home.


I can't say that about the second page; however, all I added were the arrows and the "Look Out!" that are both from the level 2 My Stickease pack. I have to get more My Stickease.


Oh, you will have to wait until next week for the rest. I didn't realize Friday was here already!

FRiEnDs

I know I normally participate in card sketch challenges on Wednesday from Splitcoasters, but I want to share my convention artwork with you this week. For those of you who scrapbook, you will love the next three days, since I have three more layouts to share with you including this one.

This layout was created with the new Free Spirit paper pack from the fall/winter catalog. This was my favorite paper pack when I got my new catty, because I love, love, love orange. AND my two favorite colors with orange are blue and brown. I haven't had time to play with my paper pack at home, so I was glad we used it at convention. The layouts we created were awesome, especially since 350 consultants were working at the same time. That is a lot of people with different skills and experience working together. I thought corporate did a great job on creating layouts for such a big group.

This layout was to show how you can make this paper packet work for a girl or boy layout. Even though this layout has flowers on it, I used it for my boys. The flowers remind me of sunflowers. I really like this one. Layouts with various sized pictures always catch my eye. The saying was printed on adhesive backed twill and given to us from corporate in our kit. That is the nice thing about the twill....you can do so much with it, since it already has adhesive on it. The FRiENdS title is from the My Stickease set that goes with Free Spirit. Each Level 2 My Stickease comes with letters, so you can complete a layout easily. Once I got home, I added pictures, photo clips, button heads and the small spiral. You wouldn't have had to add to this layout, but I just can't seem to leave a layout alone. By the way, the little boy sitting in the chair with Tate and Tanner is their cousin Ben.


This is page two where I used more My Stickease at the top of this page. The little tag is from Memory Labels stamp set. We stamped it on adhesive backed twill with autumn terracotta and cocoa ink. The words across the bottom are from this same stamp set. I was so lucky last weekend, because we got to play with this stamp set. In fact, all the stamp sets I will be showing we got FREE, yes I said FREE from corporate. I love my job!

JOY

Again, I had so much fun this last weekend that I can't quit talking about it. I love it when someone I haven't talked to since last week calls and asks me how my trip was. I get to tell my story all over again!

We made four two-page layouts on Saturday just for starters. This one incorporated CTMH chipboard letters that we covered with Everlasting paper and we used the new ribbon rounds. I was on the fence about this stamp set, Victorian Snowflakes. I am so glad I got to use it. It is one of my favorites from the Fall/Winter catalog. I saw so much artwork completed with this stamp set. It is so pretty when used with prisma glitter. You will see it again, when I post the Holiday 9 x 9 accordion album later this week.


This is the second page of the layout. We used the new foundry frames and bling on this page. I tell ya...I love bling on layouts and cards!


I haven't had time to print pictures for all the layouts I am going to show you. I will be scrapping on Saturday night at my house, so I will take the time to print them then.

ADORABLE

I finished another layout that I created in August by finally printing pictures. This layout is from the Cherish idea book from CTMH. I haven't played with the new Imagine idea book yet. This is the first layout I have completed with all black and white photos. It is hard for not to print color photos, but the pictures I chose had too many contrasting colors to the soft pastels.

Here is Tanner with his Great Grandma Medsker and his admiring big brother. This little boy has been kissed so much by his big brother that he should be chapped. LOL! See picture lower right corner.


Here is Tanner with his Grandpa Burmeister, big brother and mom. The colors in this two page layout are: heavenly blue, sunkiss yellow, white daisy, sweet leaf and blush.

KID POWER

I took the time to finish this layout I started over two months ago. I had all the paper cut and glued down and finished the title at my sister's about a month ago. I printed the pictures off earlier this week and took advantage of Tanner falling asleep watching CARS in the afternoon.

This layout is for Tate's album. He learned how to ride his bike without training wheels almost three years ago and hasn't slowed down since. Can't you tell how proud he is from that great big smile? I got the stop light idea from the 2007 CTMH summer idea book that showcased this paper pack. I punched 1 1/4 inch circles of cranberry, sunflower and clover meadow cardstock and applied them to metal rimmed paper tags. I like how this mimics the polka dot paper on page two and goes with the paper motif of Route 66.


Today, I stamped the boy image and colored him in with CTMH markers and water color pencils. I added "go Dude" as a tag to go with the boy image. I remember yelling, "Go! Go! Go!", when Tate was learning to ride on his own, and this image just screamed "go Dude" to me. I used the same paper combination for the journaling box as I did for the go Dude tag. All products used for this layout are CTMH, except for the words on the stop sign.

For the stop sign, I used Karen Foster Designs Snap-Stamps that I won on Cindy's blog Creating with the Heart. She does a great job...check her blog out. I had never heard of these until Cindy posted them on her blog. These are tiny letters that snap together, so the word possibilities are endless. They are easy to use and I am so glad I won them! BOYS RULE

I had fun creating this page and searching for pictures to add to the layout. I wanted to get action shots of my boys, especially Tate since it goes in his scrapbook. This first page has him playing with a car track with his idol, Jacob. Jacob is my sister's 16 year old son. At the time the picture was taken Jacob was 14 and Tate was four. Jacob can't live a minute without my boys hanging on him and saying his name. He is a wonderful big cousin to look up to. He plays so nicely with my boys and they love him!

Tate is jumping on a trampoline with another cousin, Ben. He is my oldest brother's son. Tate and Ben are six months apart in age, so they love playing with each other.

I used Lazy Days of Summer paper pack and My Stickease on this two-page layout. I wanted to accent the layout with red to give it a little *POW*. I like how it turned out.

Tate is acting like Spiderman jumping off a chair in the family room wearing his Spiderman boxers. On the top little picture, Tate is relaxing in the baby pool we used to have with Tanner. You can see the layout better when you click on the images.

I used Rustic Alphabet for the title. I think that one is my favorite "E" sized alphabet that CTMH carries. In the little jar I used the stamp set BUGS to stamp the little lighting bugs and colored them in with markers. For the tabs, I used my tab punch I bought at Hobby Lobby.

I forgot to give you Jeanne's blog site Creative Bliss, when I wrote about her making my blog banner. She is so awesome! Check out her site! I have tagged her before, but you still need to visit to see what she has been up to lately. Jeanne is getting into digital scrapbooking and is very good at it.

Friday morning I am off to meet my sister for lunch (Happy Joe's) and scrapbook shopping in Des Moines, Iowa! Happy Joe's is a pizza and ice cream parlor that makes the best taco pizza. Well, I think so, because I grew up eating this wonderful pizza pie. After shopping, we are going to a weekend crop. Yippee! How can it get any better than that?

Live Laugh Love

I can't believe I am still meeting my goal of finishing a scrapbook layout each week. I really like scrapbooking and am glad I am back to it. I can easily get sidetracked with cards and special projects, but I'm back baby! LOL!

I smile every time I look at pictures of my kids. They are so happy! They are definitetly why I started this great hobby. Below is another layout from the Cherish book Close To My Heart carries in their line of products. In September, they are coming out with another book called Imagine. I can't wait to get it.

I used Rough 'N Tumble paper packet and the Flyin' High stamp set that goes with this paper. In addition, I used solo "p" for the stamped images that reads play and the circle, Kid Power for the life is so sweet and little dots around Tanner's picture on the second page, and Precious Alphabet for live laugh love. I put pop dots under the circles to give them a little dimension.

I stamped the car and plane on adhesive-backed twill. I really like that "stuff". I pulled strings from the side of the twill to make it look a little frayed. I was going to fall back on the usual...brads...on the corners of the twill and saw baby pins in my accessories case. Awww! Those were just what the layout needed.

I am going cropping all next weekend and will create more layouts. I really enjoy scrapping this way. I can print pictures the sizes I need and the color I want, i.e. black and white. I need to try sepia one of these days.

Blast From The Past

One of my favorites. Tate loved peanut butter. I like this so much, because my husband hand drew the JIF letters for me. It looks just like the jar. He is a sweetie!

I just have a moment before we had to the Barefoot Bar in Okoboji, so my hubby can set up for their gig tonight. Above are some of my favorite layouts from the past three years I created. These are some of my favorites from the archives. It is funny how my style has changed in just the past year. I still like these even though they seem so simple.

PERFECTION

I am keeping the promise to myself about getting some scrapbooking done. I don't know how long it will last, since I love making cards so much. I am going to try to do a scrapbook layout a week. Right now that seems like a lot to me, but I will see how it goes.

I finished this layout on Sunday. It is one that I made on National Scrapbooking Day and I needed to add pictures and journaling. That always seems to be the hardest part. I don't like going down to my basement and searching for the best pictures for a layout; however, once I am done there I have fun looking through all the pictures ooooing and aahhhing to find the perfect one. I like the option of being able to size the pictures how I want and changing them to black and white. I have always wanted to use black and white photos in my scrapbooks, but never did. If I do the layouts ahead of time using the CTMH Cherish book, I am creative with my pictures too. By the way, the new fall idea book will have the new CTMH Imagine book. YEAH! It is just like the Cherish book with new layouts and ideas. I will be ordering that first.

I love the picture of of Tanner sleeping with his hand closer to the camera. He fell asleep on our couch, and I put the camera right on the couch with him. Baby's hand and feet are so cute and I wanted to take pictures of him at a different angle than above him. I changed this to black and white, because the colors contrasted with the layout colors.

Sorry for the glare on the second page of the layout. My camera flash would not go off on the first page and went off when I was taking a picture of the second page. Pictures of me are not usually on my scrapbook layouts, because I am the one behind the camera most of the time. I had to take advantage of this picture of Tanner and me. I love it!
