Every Saturday on Paper Craft Planet, we will be hosting a sketch challenge.  I should have posted this on Saturday; however, I was at an all day training event for Close To My Heart.  In the future, I will post the challenge on Saturday (whenever possible).  Here is the sketch design by Susanna Boyd:

Here is the card I made for this challenge:

I {heart} the Perfect Day Level 2 paper from CTMH.  The pattern paper is so pretty.  When I saw this paper I used for the background, I couldn't think of anything but a monochromatic card.  I used both sides of the great pattern paper for a soft background.  Then I stamped the coordinating stamp set, Life's Creations for the image.  I saw a tutorial last week on inking around your stamped image while it is still in the nestabilities die, so I tried it.  Love it!  It makes a perfect frame around the outer edge of the paper.

I added the sentiment from Life's Creation stamp set, ivory organdy ribbon, colonial white small spiral and the crystal stickers in the upper right corner.  I was going for a simple, but elegant card.  I hope you like it.

If you want to see the other projects made with the sketch this week at Paper Craft Planet click here.  After checking out the wonderful artwork, you should get out your supplies and play along, because you could win a prize.  Go to Susanna's blog and check out what you need to do to win.

Okay!  I said I would announce the winner of the blog candy give away today.  I put all the names on tickets for all the times you completed an item on the list.  My son, Tate, loves drawing names out of the basket.  We shook them up really goood!  Tate drew the name........Karen Wilson!

Congrats Karen!  Send your snail mail to stampfest@cox.net and I will get your candy packaged and ready to mail.

Happy Stamping!

Card Design from new CATTY

For some reason I kept seeing this card design every time I picked up CTMH's new catalog. They used the new Perfect Day paper. I couldn't use that yet, because mine won't be here until Friday. I used the Floral Tapestry paper. This is the same stamp set that was used on the layout I posted yesterday...Life's Creation. I didn't think I was going to like the new set, but I really do. I used my Fiskars cutter for the scalloped edge and put pop dots behind the sentiment.

This design is simple; however, elegant. I tell ya...I love the artwork in CTMH's new idea book. It is my favorite catalog for artwork yet.

I will have to take some pics of my favorites tomorrow and work on my video.

Convention Layout

Finally, I have the time to post what I had ready to post yesterday. I remember when I worked outside the home, and went on vacation it was a bear before (getting ready) and when I got back (catching up). Being a SOHM (stay at home mom)...It Is The Same! I made sure everything was ready for my hubby before I left. When I came home, it looked like a tornado hit the inside of our house. LOL! So I spent the first whole day cleaning, doing laundry, etc. Now, the second day was spent getting ready for club meeting tonight and PTA "stuff". Did I tell you I volunteered to be our PTA President this year.? What was I thinking!

My friends know I hate being really busy. Well, I guess I have to either accept that I am going to be and change my attitude. Just one day at school this morning talking with the principal and I wanted to crawl in a corner and hide.

Sorry this is in a different font. I saved it from yesterday's post.

I didn't know where to begin with all the new things from convention. My roomies and I swapped a two-page layout, we made two projects during our make-n-take time and new stamp sets that I got just for being there.

I decided to show you a two-page layout, we made in our make-n-take session. The paper is from our new idea book. It is called Perfect Day. We used the My Stickease to match and our new rub-ons. Yes, rub-ons. They are really pretty. I changed my title to MY BOYS. They had MY CITY and I don't have pictures for that. We distressed the pages with the black distressing tool CTMH sells. I haven't used it much. I like it! We also used the new stamp set Life's Creation. I just love these colors. The best thing about our new pattern paper is it is double sided. Every piece has a pattern on both sides. This is what I have been wanting, so I am very pleased with the new paper packets. YAY!

I have been asked to give you a sneak peak of the new catty. I will, but not until after Tuesday night. My club members are coming over Tuesday night for our meeting and I don't want to spoil it for them. They get the new catty after they place their August order.
