Sparkle Christmas Challenge #13

Sparkle is busy at the Olympics, but still had time to give us a challenge this week to keep us on task.  Our challenge is to make whatever type of Christmas card we want.  YAY!

I decided to include this Christmas card in my March card class.  Everyone always says they wish they would start their Christmas cards sooner, so I am giving them a push this month.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets by Stampin' Up!, Lovely As A Tree.

Materials used: Material CTMH unless noted.
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree (SU)
Paper: cranberry cs, Evensong Creative Basics, white daisy cs
Ink: chocolate, new england ivy, olive
Accessories: sweet leaf grosgrain ribbon, cranberry bigger brads, cranberry baby pin, sweet leaf brad
Punches: Large Snowflake (SU)

Have fun creating,

Thanks a bunch...chickies!

I am still trying to use what I have before I buy a bunch of new paper and stamp sets.  Oh, I have purchased some sets, but not as many I would like.  I think I purchased my first paper pack this month, since before August.  I have soooo much paper and so little time...ha ha!

I love this retired stamp set, Best of Cluck by SU.  This is the third card we will be making at our March card class.  I used retired paper.  Love it!

I have been working on teacher appreciation week that is next week.  I will have the goodies for their mailboxes to show you soon.  I didn't make them due to time constraints, but I like what I found in the short time I had to shop.

Have fun creating,

Hoppy for you!

Here is another card for my March card class.  The stamp is from the same set Very Punny by Stampin' Up.   I love this little frog!

Materials used
Stamps: Very punny (SU)
Paper: Emporium, cocoa cs and colonial white cs
Ink: sweet leaf
Accessories: antique pewter brads, ivory organdy ribbon , pop dots
Punches: Three Flowers (retired SU), 1" square punch, 1 1/4" square punch

Have fun creating,

Happy Easter

Every year I make Easter cards and then I don't send them.  Not this year!  I make a pledge to send my Easter cards this year.  I will not make cards for the holidays and not give them to my friends and family.  Do you see the hand over my heart?...hee hee!

I made this card with an image from DZ Doodles.  When we color Easter Eggs, I always want to make them as bright as possible.  I don't know why, but the brighter the better for me.  Oh, before I forget...I am stepping down from my DT responsibilities at DZ Doodles in order to pursue other interests in stamping.

Here is my last card as a DT member:

I don't remember what Copics I used, because I took a bunch to my parents the last visit and didn't keep track when I was coloring while visiting.  Sorry, I will make sure I keep track next time.

Have fun creating,

Best Fishes

This is a card that will be in my next card class for March.  I just love the stamp sets that use puns.  If you click the picture, you will be able to see the image better.  It reads "Best fishes".  So cute!

Materials used:
Stamps: Very Punny (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: Emporium pattern paper, crystal blue cs, sweet leaf cs, white daisy cs
Ink: crystal blue
Accessories: crystal blue organdy ribbon, sweet leaf button, heavenly blue waxy blax, white gel pen (Stampn' Up), pop dots (unknown)
Punches: circle scallop (Stampin' Up), 1 3/8" circle (Stampin' Up), 1 1/4" circle, scallop border (Stampin' Up)

Have fun creating,

Happy Birthday, Big Boy

Today, February 22nd is my son, Tate's birthday.  Happy Birthday, Big Boy!  I can't believe you are nine years old already.  Wow!  I remember the day we brought you home.  I thought and still think you are PERFECT!

I haven't made a maculine card for so long it took me a while to get in the groove.  I think he will like it.  My DH thought is was cool.  He liked the metal arrow I used by Tim Holtz.  The paper is from CTMH called It's A Guy Thing Level 2.  I used a chipboard number and covered it with matching pattern paper from the pack.  The only products that are not CTMH are the Cuttlebug embossing folder and the Tim Holtz arrow.

Happy Birthday, Tate!
We Love You!

Have fun creating,

Let It Snow

Let It Snow is the attitude I have this winter, because I can't change the weather and it has snowed a bunch this year.  I told my boys this is the type of winter I remember as a kid.  We had piles of snow all winter to climb on and dig in to make forts.  It is WINTER, so we might as well enjoy it.

I am trying to keep up with my scrapbooking this year.  As I wrote before, Amanda at A-MANDA CREATIONS is helping me do that this.  I bought more of her quick pages to get my pictures out of my computer and into albums.  With class preparations, club projects, DT projects, etc....it is nice to just sit back and put my pictures into ready made templates.

I cheated and took these pictures from inside the house, so the ones on the second page are not as good as I would like.  I sacrificed good pictures for warmth..hee hee!  The pictures on the second layout page are my boys across the street helping the neighbors shovel and play in their front yard.  The first page is right outside out front door.

Doesn't Amanda create beautiful digi pages?  Thanks, Amanda!

Christmas Card Challenge Week #11

Sparkles's Christmas card challenge this week is a sketch challenge.  Check it out here.  I look through my images and found a Christmas image I colored a long time ago.  I love it when I have images ready to go.

This paper pack has always been one of my favorite CTMH papers.  Unfortunately, it is retired.  I only have a few sheets left.  Any shade of blue and brown together is a great color combo to me.

Have fun creating,

Valentine Gifts

We went to my parents last weekend and when we got home I found a package of goodies in our mailbox from my friend, Barb at The Buzz.  Thank you, Barb!  You are sooo sweet!  Look at the Valentine gift she sent me.

This is what is inside the cute little decorated cylinders.  The haven't made an easel card yet.  Maybe this will get me to make one.  I love these little flowers she made from an old novel and of course...chocolate!

We exchanged Valentine gifts at my parents, but my DH and boys didn't make a card until after we got back. My card always has something to do with the present they give me.  This year I asked for Wii Fit Plus.  See how they spelled "we".  I love it!

The inside is so sweet!  I love how my DH lets the boys help him color and draw the images.  I keep all of my cards in a scrapbook.  Oh, how I love my boys!

Have fun creating!

Got Eggs?

This week DZ Doodles is the sponsor for the Copic Challenge at Copic Creations.  The challenge is to color an embellishment with your copics.  I chose to color my ribbon to match my purple.  The ribbon I used is a satin white from Offray.  The image I used from DZ Doodles is Bunny Eggsentiment.  This image is so cute!  Diane has a lot of new images just in time for Easter.  Check her site out here!  Here is my card for the challenge:

I popped the egg and hands with pop dots to give it a 3-D look.  I love it!  Oh, I almost forgot.  I got the polka dots on my eggs by using my colorless blender. This is so easy and adds so much to the image.

I am off to play Wii Fit Plus with my boys.  They gave me the upgrade for Valentine's Day.  I like how we can play multi-player on this one.

Edited to add Copic colors:  V01, V04, V06, V09, C0, C1, C2, C3, C4, RV000, RV00, RV10  I kept building from the light to the darkest.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of Things

I haven't posted much, but I have been busy with PTA "stuff", getting ready for Valentine's Day.  We didn't get to see my parents at Christmas time due to the big snow storm.  We get to see them on Valentine's Day...YAY!

Oh, before I forget....thank you, thank you, thank you Tammy for letting me know that I used the wrong word on my last post.  AND of all places the Title.  I used "Where" instead of "Wear".  Yes, I did go to school even graduated from college, but sometimes my brain is not kicked in all the way...LOL!  Again Tammy, thanks so much.  I do want to know when I make mistakes on my blog.  My sister used to be my editor, but she is busy with volunteering that she doesn't always get to my blog every day.  Connie, if you saw that one...you are FIRED!  Ha ha!

Okay, now to creating!  I made these cute little projects at my friend, Kim's last night.  I never miss my monthly creating time with Kim.  Too much fun and creating to be done not to go and enjoy the evening not matter how busy I am.

Check out this card that holds a gift card.  Always love making these!

My boys are always so excited to go to their grandparents.  The last four grandchildren are boys ages 10, 9, 8 and 5.  Mine are the last two.  They have so much fun playing with Ben and Quinn.  Since we are going to be them on Valentine's Day, I didn't want to go empty handed.  I threw these together to give Ben and Quinn.

Sorry about the pic.  I should have hidden the seams, but I was in a hurry this morning.  I filled these cute containers with red hots.  I got these little jars on clearance at Walmart.  They were filled with Halloween candy.  Of course, my boys had no problem eating the candy for me.  No, it wasn't old candy.  I bought them right after Halloween.  Oh, they would eat old candy, but they didn't have too...hee hee!

Now, for my mom.  Don't look at the next picture, Mom!  I made something really quick for her.  I can't remember whose blog I got this idea.  If you know or if you are the person, please comment and take credit for this cute idea.  Nothing fancy...sorry about that, Mom!  I made this project quickly.  Wow!  That has been a theme of mine lately.  The "M" could stand for Mom or Mary, which is my mom's name.

Okay, I won't be blogging while I am away.  Another "thing" I have been doing is working with Emily at The Blog Fairy.  She is working on redesigning my blog for me.  The complete blog makeover.  Let me tell ya....Emily is one talented lady!  She is awesome!  She can take any idea and viola!...it becomes reality.  I am not going to unveil this new look until the middle of March.  It is killing me not to show you, but I have ideas and plans as to why I am unveiling it then.  Check Emily's site out!  You will be glad you did!

Have fun creating!

I Wear My Sunglasses....

....to see these cards!

Yes, I know.  I have not posted in a while.  You know you need to get busy and create, when your mom calls and tells you she hasn't seen you post lately.  LOL!  I know Mom.  I am finally posting.  I made time today to play with my new Movers & Shapers die from Stampin' Up!.  I love this die and have been wanting to play with it for a while.  I only have the one window right now.  Of course, the other window dies just jumped up to the top of my WANT/NEED list.

I made this first card at my friend, Kim's house.  It is so cute and simple that it inspired me to make more with a similar design.

Aren't these so cute?  I love how they have a peek-a-boo window that matches the stamp set.

I made this thank you card in Green Clover cardstock by CTMH.

Materials used: Paper - clover meadow cs & white daisy cs (CTMH), ink - clover meadow (CTMH), stamp - Cute & Curly (SU), Accessories - clover meadow gingham ribbon (retired CTMH), SU border punch & movers & shapers die

Since I am behind in my weekly Christmas cards, I thought I better participate in Sparkles's challenge this week of red and blue.  I am going to find a military family to send this too.  It just screams patriotic Christmas to me.

Materials used - Paper - moonstruck cs & white daisy cs, white glitter paper, Ink - Tulip, Stamp - Cute & Curly (SU), Accessories - snowflake punch (SU), ribbon, red button, colonial white waxy flax, Swiss Dots embossing folder

I had to show you the card lying down and standing up to show you the cute window.  I love these!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Stamping!

PLAY

I am ready for Scrapbook Club this Saturday night...YAY!  I am so happy with my layout this time, and I created another layout for this year's goal.  Yippee!  I was inspired from my Reflections Scrapbook Program by CTMH.  I used the layout ideas on pages 35 and 37.  My boys, especially Tate, are always playing in the tree in the front yard.  Since it is his "home" outside I wanted to capture these moments for Tate's scrapbook.  We call this tree "Tate's Tree".

Materials used: All products are CTMH unless noted
Stamps: Connections, Kid Power (retired), Kids Will Be Kids (retired), Journaling Jots
Paper: Emporium Level 2, vineyard berry cs, buttercup cs, crystal blue cs
Ink: sweet leaf, vineyard berry, crystal blue
Accessories: circle window charms (retired), solo chipboard letters, buttercup nail heads, heavenly blue brads, chocolate legacy writer for journaling
Punches (EK Success): 1" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/4" circle punch

Happy Scrappin'!

Christmas Layouts

I have come to the realization that I am never going to get caught up with scrapping all the pictures I take.  From designing projects for classes, keeping up my blog, designing for Paper Craft Planet and DZ Doodles, making cards, AND FAMILY, I have decided to bite the bullet and find easier ways to get my pictures in the boys' album.  Soooo...I have found digital quick pages are my best friend.

I stumbled across A-Manda Creation while doing a Google Search for Christmas quick page layouts.  OH MY!  Amanda has the cutest quick pages ready for purchase and all I have to do is add my pictures.  Viola!  I have completed layouts!  I did a couple of two page layouts in no time tonight.  These are from Christmas 2009.  Now, I just need to add Tate's pictures for his album.  Check out Amanda's site!  You will be glad you did.

Happy Scrapping!

Finally Done with Outlined for Fun

This is the last card we will make at club on Tuesday night.  This is my second to last piece and then it is gone.  I agree with Sparkle about how it is sad to use the last piece of a favorite pack, but then that leaves room for more...hee hee!

I try to keep my cards for club simple and cute, since we make three of them.  These are easy cards to take home and recreate.

Materials used -
Stamps: Outlined for Fun (retired SU), It's A Party
Paper: colonial white and bamboo cs, Silhouette pattern paper
Ink: black, bamboo
Accessories:  black brads, concave corner punch, black marker, black designer ribbon, flower, felt bigger brad

Now, I need to create a layout for the scrapbooking club for Saturday!

Happy Stampin'!
