Relax Riley

Here is another image I got from my friend, Barb.  This is the first Riley I have ever colored and I love this moose!

This is the inside of the card.  I got some ink by the sentiment, so I improvised and added the little red flowers to cover my mistake.  Oh I forgot...there are no mistakes, just a chance to add an embellishment.  That is what Chris, my upline, has always says.

Materials used: All products CTMH unless noted.  Paper - Perfect Day Level 2, tulip cs, cocoa cs; Stamp sets - Riley (Hanna Stamps), Happy Day, Happy Birthday, Solo R; Ink - black (Memento), copics, cocoa, tulip; Accessories - Labels Two (Nestabilities), arch lattice (Martha Stewart punch), chocolate bigger brads, chocolate designer ribbon, framed fun dimensional elements, red flowers (unknown)

I used the frame from the tulip colored label on the front to frame my sentiment inside the card.  I try to use the negative and positive of my nesabilities.

I did keep track of the colors I used for the chair on this card.  I wanted to be able to use these color combo again.  I used BG72, BG13, BG45, and B00.  I am going to have to experiment with my copics to find the color combo I used for the foot stool.  Now, I am going to carry my copics notebook with me to mark my favorite color combos.  I good lesson learned.

Happy Stamping!

Relax....it's your day!

Happy Birthday, Terese!

Today is one of my friends, Terese's birthday....40th in fact!  I can say that, because I am going to be 42 this year.  She doesn't look 40, so no one would ever guess.  In honor of her birthday I made a birthday card...AND I used one of my House Mouse stamps...YAY!

I have had this little bunny colored and on my desk screaming to be used for awhile now.  When I saw it today, I knew how I wanted to use it.

Inside sentiment

I need to make time to color more often.  I love it when I do!  I am finding myself outside more, since the days are longer and nicer.  Tomorrow is the first day of spring and my boys think it is awesome!  I know the next question....When is the first day of summer?

Supplies used:  All products are CTMH unless noted.  Paper - white daisy cs, grey wool cs, crystal blue cs, white solar crest (Neenah), Caprice pattern paper; Stamp sets - The Spot Light (House Mouse), Happy Day (retired), Baby (retired), Solo R; Ink - crystal blue ink, crystal blue marker, grey wool marker, copics; Accessories - crystal blue organdy ribbon, white pearls (Hero Arts), concave punch (EK Success), round tab punch (SU)

Happy Stamping!

UR remarkable

Earlier this month, I posted a gift card holder. Well, here is another type of gift card holder that is soooo cute! I got this from Dawn at Dawns Stamping Thoughts. In fact here is her video on how to make this adorable card. It is so easy and simple. Her blog is awesome too! She is the one who inspired me to start making video tutorials. Here is my version of this card:

Recipe:

Paper - Good Times Level 2 paper pack, Chocolate cs, Sweet Leaf cs, Buttercup cs

Stamp sets - Boutique Alphabet, Solo R

Embellisment - Chocolate grosgrain ribbon (I put this on my card, because mine didn't want to stay closed.), pop dots, mat pack (SU), brown lunch bag

I added a category or label feature to my sidebar that I named Artwork. This shows my artwork listed under the stamp set or sets I used. I hope this helps when you are trying to find ideas for stamp sets you own. I have one category named No Sentiment. I will put my artwork that does not have a sentiment on the front. I like to make these sometimes, so they fit any occasion I need a card. I am labeling all of my new posts and going back on my old posts, so it will take a while to get it completely updated. Please be patient (Connie)!

Notice my signature at the bottom. I have seen this on blogs and like the personal touch it adds. It is funny, because I was trying to figure out how to do this, when my good friend Jeanne wrote me an email about how to do it. Thanks, Jeanne! She has the site listed on her blog, if you want to check it out.

Happy Stamping!

You R Snow Fun

This is my 100th post...YEAH! I can't believe I had posted that many times already. I just love blogging and receiving all the blogs I subscribe to.

This is going to be another quick one. I got home tonight, Sunday and we are now trying to decide whether we are going to Adventureland on Monday. It is supposed to be 99 degrees in Omaha on Monday and Des Moines is not that far away, so it will be about the same. That seems awful hot to be out all day at an amuzement park on asphalt. I am sure the lines will be long at all the water rides and Tanner might not be tall enough to ride some of them. We are going to decide in the morning. I can't believe it is going to be so hot, because right now it is cool outside after the big rain storm we had this evening.

I made three of these cards for all my boys (Hubby, Tate and Tanner). I always like cards that play on words and have seen this saying before. Hope you like it!

Later this week, I will be showing you my new watermark and a really pretty butterfly I found at a scrapbook store in Chariton, Iowa.

Happy Monday!
