Happy Birthday, Connie!

and Debbie H too!  Today, January 9th, is my sister's birthday and my friend, Debbie is celebrating her birthday today too!  I made a birthday card to post today for the occassion, especially since both of them are scappers.

To celebrate Connie's birthday, because she is my #1 fan and #1 critic (LOL!), I am going to be giving away some blog candy.  See the bottom of this post for details.

Here is Molly from Molly Stamps holding her scissors again.  I stamped a few a these and colored her skin and hair when I was on vacation.  I leave her dress uncolored until I decide what paper to use.  I can't believe I got a close match to this CTMH paper.  The paper is one from the Perfect Day Level 2 pack.  It has all the new CTMH colors.  The copics I used for her dress are BG72 Ice Ocean, R24 Prawn and R27 Cadmium Red.  I will remember these colors for the next time I want to use Perfect Day.

I used my own handwriting for the first part of the sentiment on the outside "Have a" and used the Let's Get Together stamp set for the inside sentiment.  So the card reads, "Have a scraptacular birthday."

I have been trying to decorate the inside of my cards, so the inside isn't so boring.  The flowers on the inside are from the Let's Get Together set also.

Here is the "mom cam", because my mother likes this view.

Materials used:

Paper - Perfect Day (CTMH), White Daisy cs (CTMH), Tulip cs and Cocoa cs (CTMH), White Solar Crest (Neenah)

Ink - Black (Memento)

Stamp set - Let's Get Together (Molly Stamps)

Accessories - pop dots, chocolate waxy flax (CTMH), 3/4" circle punch (EK Success), 1" circle punch (EK Success), polka dot ribbon (American Crafts), chocolate brads (CTMH), brown felt flowers (Greenhouse), copics, brown marker (CTMH)

The blog candy is going to be five of my cards plus envelopes and a little this and that.  The cards and this and that is going to be a surprise in honor of my sister's birthday.  To enter the drawing just leave me a comment on what is your paper craft new year's resolution.  Mine is to use my supply of products that are just sitting around collecting dust.  I am trying to think outside of the box on what I normally use as accessories on my cards.  What is yours?  If you don't have one yet, make one now!

Happy Stamping!

My goal is to use my stuff not just hold on to it because I have to save it for the perfect project. I am going to enjoy because I like it.

Hi Kim! What a cute card!! My goal this year is to use what I have and also to SEE what paper I have and buy embellishments to match instead of just buying things.

Loving the 'say it in style' stamp set!! I hope you got my thank you on the original post? I tried to email and it wouldn't go thru for some reason.

Have a great wknd!

Mine is to at least do one scrapbook page a week. I tend to do more cards and want to get some scrapbooking done this year.

My goal is to simplify. Every card doesn't have to have "all the works." I also want to send more friendship cards. Our family has been through a lot this past year and family and friends have been there for us. I would love to be able to send a personal thank you to each one. If I do a few every week, it will be much easier.

Thanks for a chance to win and have a great day.

Great card Kim. My goal for 2009 is to not buy to collect but to use the things I have. I also want to try and send out more cards to the special people in my life. Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy.

Cute card! My goal is to complete my daughter's wedding scrapbook. She was married this past June and I haven't even started yet! Gotta get motivated!

What a great, fun card! The colors work so well with the paper. Good job!

My goal for this year is to buy less and use more-although with new stuff that I'm seeing...it's VERY hard to implement!

Cute, cute card! Happy birthday Connie and Melinda H!

Kim, I LOVE how close you and your family seem! I have lost both my Mom and my only Sister, but reading things you say about your Mom and Connie make me smile! We were all so much like that. :-) I KNOW I'll see them again!

My goal is to USE what I have and not THINK I have to have the latest and newest on the market to "beat" other family members... oooops a confession there! hehehe You are constantly crafting and you have no idea what an inspiration it is to me to get off my booty and USE my stuff!!!

Blessings to you and your family,
Vicki H

Hi Kim! This card is fab! You blow me away with your coloring girl! My goal-to use up all the non CTMH paper I have in my stash before the year is over.

Hi Kim! I love your card. I'm also inspired by your ribbon choice. I never would have thought to use that ribbon with that paper, but it works really well!
My new year's resolution is to scrap and make cards more often. And to actually send the cards I make. I seem to hold onto them forever, and then when I'm ready to let go of them, they seem outdated. Crazy, I know. But I resolve to be a more functional paper crafter!! Thanks for the chance to win some of your great cards!!! Happy Birthday to your sister!!!

My goal is to make time to papercraft. It is so much fun to sit & create something. And I need to get back to crafting this year!

My Plan is to get all the layouts /cards etc that have been started out and get them finished with pictures and journaling and get them in albums. I am going to use what I have on hand(for the most part) and really seeing what I can do with the supplies and techniques I have in my scraproom. I am excited to give this a try and really hope I can follow through. It should be quite a accomplishment if I succeed. I also am going to start on Xmas gifts and cards now already and do some little by little throughout the year. I hope to have a more relaxed Christmas next year.

I have been thoroughly enjoying all of your digi layouts, I really want to jump into that but I have sooooooooooo much stuff I feel like it's going to waste. My hope for this year is to get things done sooner than last minute and then just do something quick to get it done. Thanks for the opportunity to win some fun blog candy.

Hello Kim! First I have to say that before I forget my resolution will be to get organized so that I can find things. Hopefully this will go really well since we are in the process of moving! Now my real goal though will be to use at least one time a stamp from every set I own! Now that will be a real feat! I have to say Oh pick me in honor of my Birthday January 26th! Love following your blog!

My goal is to get more organized. I have so much stuff and some of it I never use because I can never find it! lol. Just the other day I found a bag with 12 new sheets of embossed card stock that I totally forgot I bought. ;)

I'm jumping on the organization band wagon! I hoard way too much and then when I actually convince myself to use it --- I can't find it!! I seriously need that 12x12 step program! Happy New Year!

Hey Kim, darling cards :) Love the tee time and the cute sentiment you created for it!

My goal...to use what I have before going hog wild with a bunch of new stuff. Along with that, I too just got into some of the digital scrapping and am working on a baby book for my baby. I want to finish up his first year layouts have it printed into a book. Haha he will be one in April so if I can "catch up" to now and keep up I'll be good!
