I have two of the three projects we are making at our card club on Tuesday evening.  The first one is taken from Sophia at Sunny Stampin' Inc.  She has a video to show you how she made her card.  I changed mine a little, but it is the same concept as hers.  Thanks, Sophia!

This awesome card I received from my friend, Barb at The Buzz.  She is one of my friends I met at CHA last week.  Isn't she a sweetie?  She sent me a thank you card.  The day I received this I sent her one too.  I told her great minds think alike.  Well, I love this!  So I decided to use it as my inspiration to make the one below for club.

I'm baaack!

Yes, we made it home from CALIFORNIA!  My DH and boys went with me, so we visited Disneyland and California Adventure too.  Since I have been back, I have done tons of laundry.  Our washing machine broke right before we left, and luckily we had an extended warranty for it.  Otherwise, I have unpacked and done absolutely nothing.  Going from a warm 67 degrees in CA to 10 degrees in Nebraska is a shock to the system.  I have just wanted to stay inside and under covers.  Reality will hit on Monday when Tate goes back to school and DH goes back to work.

I wanted to share a few pics with you of the wonderful and I mean WONDERFUL people I got to meet.  It was like we were friends forever.

A Tisket, A Tasket....

a cute little Valentine Basket!

Yes, I made another 3D project.  I can't believe it.  I needed replacements blades for my cutter, so I went to Michaels armed with my 40% off coupon.  They were out of my blades, but of course, I found something to buy.  I decided to go a locally owned scrapbook store to see if they carried my blades.  I like to buy some items from them to support the locally owned stores.  Well, when I was there I found this.....

Isn't this the cutest little basket?  It is a kit they sold, so I scooped it up to and put it together.  I LOVE it!  I am going to offer a class to make a basket like this, but for a different holiday.  I just have to figure out which one....Easter, Mother's Day!  What would you like to see?

This will be my last post for a week or so, because CHA here I come.  YAY!  CHA is going to be fun; however, meeting all of my online friends is going to be the icing on the cake.  I love icing!  Hee Hee!

Challenge Myself

Well, I made a boo boo!  I thought I remembered what Sparkles' Christmas card challenge was for this week and made my card.  Then I went to her blog to link it to this post AND I was wrong.  Yes, it happens!  More than I like to admit...hee hee.  So, I have a Christmas card for this week, but I guess I challenged myself.

In addition, I wanted you to know I did NOT color this image.  I visited my friend, Diane from DZ Doodles a few weeks ago and she gave me this image that she drew and colored.  It is available here.  She doesn't always take the time to make cards with her images she colors and I don't always have time to color.  Works out well for both of us.

3-D Tuesday (3d45) - Journal

I forgot to post this yesterday.  Whenever there is a holiday, I get confused on what day it is especially when my DH has the day off.  It felt like it was Sunday all day and it was Monday.  That means I was supposed to post this for Tuesday, since I am the host for 3-D Tuesday at Paper Craft Planet this week.

Another 3D item from me...  I think I made more within the last month than I did in 2009.

At Paper Craft Planet we are getting organized this first month of the year and setting goals. I have a journal for you this week. This is the first journal that I have ever made or kept. My journal started with my DH cleaning out his "man cave" in the basement and throwing up a piece of cardboard for me to put in the recycling bin. I picked it up and thought..."This is too good to not use." I cut it down and used it as the front and back cover of my journal.

I covered the cardboard with pattern paper, decorated it and bounded it together. My first thought was to use my Bind-It-All; however, the cardboard I used was too thick to go into the machine. I had to think of another way to keep my pages together. Ah! My CROP-A-DILE! It worked perfectly to add jumbo eyelets for "o rings". The paper I added is white and pink cardstock. I alternated the white and pink, so I could write on pretty pink paper as often as white. Lastly, I added coordinating ribbon to the rings to match my color scheme.

Have you made a journal yet? Go ahead! I use mine for everything. I use mine to write thoughts for the day, funny things my boys say, lists, favorite quotes. There are endless possibilities.

Quick Pages

Sunday I got the chance to craft for a couple of hours and got two projects completed.  I am not sure how much I will do this week, so I was happy to CREATE.  We pulled Tanner out of preschool, because I felt like he was learning anything.  I am his preschool teacher now, so my schedule that used to be open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings are full.  We are having fun together and my DH and I don't feel like we are wasting money every month.

Since I didn't have a lot of time, I found some quick pages at scrap dish.  When I was there I bought a four Halloween quick pages, a Halloween kit and some templates by Red Leaf Digi Scrapbooking.

Here is Tate's two page Halloween layout for 2009 (quick pages by Candice Duffy Jones):

The only elements I added to this two page layout are the bats on the first page.  They were from the kit, Halloween Remix by Tahera Designs.  Since Tate loves bats, I thought the first page could use a few.  When you don't have a lot of time, but want to scrap a little quick pages are great.  You add your pictures, journaling, maybe a couple more elements and viola!...A layout is complete!

Oh, I forgot to mention this earlier.  I had to change the settings on my comments section to moderate.  I was getting advertising in the comments section.  Some of my bloggin' friends seem to be getting this too.  On YouTube, people who don't have anything better to do are leaving "nasty" comments on my videos.  It is sad they don't put that energy into something good.  I had to change my settings there too.  Once I get the comment and publish it, you will see it in the post.  Thanks so much for taking the time to leave kind words.

Treat Trio Class

Okay, I got my third treat holder created for my Treat Trio Class I am holding in February.  Remember this kiss holder I made at my friend, Kim's house.  I made one for Valentine's Day to add to my treat class.  Here it is:

Here is the card I made with their digital image, Love Letter Pixie.  I colored her in Photoshop Elements. Then printed the image twice and layered the sign for a little "pop".

Here is a close up my image.  Isn't she cute?  I added prisma glitter around her wings.

I was given another image to play with called Love Letter Fairy.  I colored her in Photoshop Elements too.  When I was finished, I got the idea of putting her on the front of my envelope to match my card inside.  Here is a picture of that.  I punched her out with the curly label punch from Stampin' Up!  These are adorable together!

Christmas Challenge - Dry Embossing

I finally took the time to make my Christmas card this week.  Whew!  I don't know where this week went, but I am lovin' that it is Friday.  Sparkles' Christmas card challenge this week is dry embossing.  I had fun with this one.  I wanted to use the Swiss Dots embossing folder by Cuttlebug.  Then I saw my snowflake stamp set by SU, and the card evolved from these two products.  I don't create monochromatic cards that often, but always love them when I do.

The background paper with the white snowflakes I made with a piece of white daisy cardstock.  This is what I did:

• Stamped my snowflakes with Versamark
• Embossed them with white embossing powder
• Brayered Blue Breeze Spectrum ink over entire cardstock
• Wiped off embossed snowflakes with tissue
• Sponged edge of cardstock with outdoor denim ink
• Ran cardstock through my Big Shot with the embossing folder.

I was inspired to create a winter theme card by neighbor's snowman and the trees this morning were gorgeous.  When I got home from the gym (at 6 a.m.), I ran outside with my camera and snapped some pictures of the beautiful winter wonderland.  Check these out!

Sweet Treats

I made one of the yummy cards at my friend, Kim's house for Halloween and my boys loved it.  I knew I wanted to offer this as part of one of my classes in February.  So on top of the little nugget holder this will be another treat we make at our February class.  I have one more treat holder to make it a treat trio.  My boys are going to love these too!  They like chocolate like their mom (who me?).  You betcha!  MMMMM good!

This is both the outside and inside of the card.  The sweet treats tab pulls out, so you don't have to ruin the card....AND...it is refillable!  YUMMY!

Who Doesn't Love Chocolate? (tutorial)

Well, maybe someone, but not ME!  I love the little Hershey Nuggets, especially the ones with almonds in them. Yummy!  This little treat holder is perfect for a little extra chocolate.  You can make these for any holiday or occasion.  Just hand them out or tie them to a present.

I showed you one of these here and promised a video.  I finally got around to making one.  Can you believe I made this video with three little boys in the house?  Luckily, they were upstairs playing.  I just finished when my youngest came down the stairs...Whew!

I can't tell ya how many times I have been at the grocery store and forgot my coupons.  I clip and put them in the basket in my kitchen, and they never seem to make it to the store.  When I saw Susanna's 3D challenge at Paper Craft Planet this week, I knew I needed to make a coupon organizer.  Susanna made a budget organizer with Kelleigh Ratzlaff's envelope template here.  Kelleigh has a collection of templates you can download for a great price.  The best thing about this one....it's FREE!
