New Weekend Posting

Hello!

I am a little confused over my last post. I never got an email notification for Tutorial Time, so many of you might not have received one either. Scroll down for the tutorial if you missed it.

Okay! I have been wanting to post artwork from those of you who send me what you are creating. I don't create on the weekends much, so I would like to post paper projects I get from YOU! My first, dilemma is what to call this weekly post. I have been racking my brain to come up with a good name and cannot (help). SO! If you can think of a good name for the weekend artwork from you, I would be so grateful. In fact, grateful enough to send you some goodies. Is that enticing? I hope so. Just leave your suggestions in the comments below.

Second, I would love to see more artwork from all of you. If you cardlift or scraplift anything I do, I would love to see it and post it. You don't even have to lift from me. I just would like to see what you are making and I might lift from you. So if you send me something know it will be posted. Just send me an email with attachment to stampfest@cox.net. In addition, if I see something on your blog that I think others would like to see, I will link those for this weekly posting too.

Finally, here is some artwork I received from Debbie W. I don't create heritage pages, so I was glad to receive some. I am too busy working on my boys' albums that I haven't done blasts from the pasts. Maybe when I am old (90...LOL! Inside joke with my sister.) and gray (Oh, I am that already.) I will work on some heritage pages. She has sent me more than this, so stay tuned. Thanks for the artwork, Debbie!

Tutorial Time - Diagonal Double Pocket Card

Man, Oh, Man! It has taken me forever to get this video uploaded to a host. For some reason YouTube would not take it last night or today. I kept getting a message that it was too big; however, it is only a little over five minutes. In fact, it is the shortest video I have ever created. YouTube has a rule that your video has to be under ten minutes, so I don't understand. After many, many, many attempts and research, I decided to try a new host.

I know some of you can't view my videos on Veoh, so I looked around and found MySpaceTV on Dawn's blog. You remember DAWN! I am always talking about her rockin' blog. Well, I signed up on my space and uploaded my video there. SO....let me know if you can't see this one. I am hoping everyone can, because YouTube doesn't like this one.

I made this card over the weekend and the instructions came out on the Weekly Inkling from SlitCoastStampers. Now, I used their instructions, but I thought it was funny that I made the card and then it was the feature written tutorial in their newsletter this week. What a coincidence?

This card is so much easier than it looks finished. You will be surprised at how quickly you can make these. Of course, they are fun too!

The Stamp Garden

I didn't have time to create today, because I spent the day getting ready for my stamp club meeting tonight. BUT..........

I do have some fabulous cards to show you! When we were vacationing in Sioux Falls, SD, I shopped at a couple of scrapbook stores (of course). Well, there is the cutest little scrapbook store right on main street called The Stamp Garden (216 South Main Avenue). Val, the owner, is the nicest lady. She let my boys draw in the scraproom while I shopped. Isn't that cool? In addition, she let me take pictures of cards hanging in her store. They were either cards that showed off the products or cards she made for her card classes. I took a bunch of pics, so I would have some to show you when I don't have time to create, and so I could cardlift them...hee hee! If you are ever in Sioux Falls, SD stopped by The Stamp Garden and tell Val I said, "Hi".

Flowers and Chocolate

Summer has officially started at our house! We spent most of yesterday and today opening our pool. No big problems this year (yet)! I am keeping my fingers crossed. It seems like we learn something new every year, and we have lived her ten years now. Tate and Tanner are hoping they will be able to jump in by the weekend. We are filtering, filtering, filtering...did I say filtering all the muck and dirt out of it now. One of our pool tarps has seen its last year and time to reorder in the fall. Well, that is enough pool talk!

I saw an awesome card and box set from Dawn at Dawn's Stampin' Thoughts a little while ago and decided to give it a try. This is going to be my next hostess gift. I used CTMH stamps and paper and Dawn used SU stamps and paper. They look similar, don't ya think? When I saw this on Dawn's blog, I knew I had the materials to make it. AND she made a video, so I could just follow along. You rock, Dawn! Here is the set she made and the video...Gift Box Video.

Here's mine. Sorry the pictures are not so good, because I had to take them at 9 pm at night after the boys went to bed. I didn't get to use natural light on these.





This set includes four cards and envelopes. Who is going to be the lucky hostess that holds the next themed party....hmmm! We will have to wait and see.

I used the Simple Blossoms stamp set; cocoa, sunflower and white daisy paper. The flower is embossed and then I rubbed ink over the flower with buttercup and sweet leaf ink. The ribbon is non-CTMH. Oh yeah, I used my white gel pen like Dawn does too!

I have completed my project for my video this week. I foresee in our schedule that I will have time to create my video tutorial on Wednesday night and post some time on Thursday, so stay tuned!

My Stickease Galore

I needed some thank you cards and decided to make cards with just a paper pack and my stickease. No stamping! Wow! No stamping! These My Stickease "stickers" from CTMH are awesome. They are thicker than a normal sticker, so they look good by themselves. Here is the same card design with three different My Stickease combinations. I used Simple Pleasures paper pack and the matching Simple Pleasures My Stickease. If you don't have any of these wonderful embellishments that match your paper, you should get some soon!

The other accents I used are: edge anchors, designer ribbons rounds and cuttlebug (script).

Tutorial Time - Money Holder Card

This is an awesome card to give someone, if you are giving them money or a check. It can be used for graduation, birthdays, Christmas....the possibilities are endless. I got the instructions from Lisa Somerville. She is a very talented lady! Thanks, Lisa!

Playful Petals 3D

My sister saved my birthday card and present for this weekend, when we were both visiting our parents for a high school graduation. Now, I know why....this card is gorgeous and she would have had to send it in a box. She did not design this, but she is the best at copying cards and layouts. They always looks just like the original.

This card is from a consultant on the CTMH bulletin board. I showed her this card and she recreated it. I cannot find the consultant's name, so if you know her please, please, please let me know her name. I want to give her credit, because this one is an original. I have made one just to have as a template. The petals are from the stamp set Playful Petals and the greeting is printed on cardstock from her computer. The colors used are dutch blue, sunkiss yellow, black, white daisy and sweet leaf. The inside of the flowers are black buttons and waxy flax.

Isn't it just adorable?


Here is a close up of the flower petals. The instructions read to role the petals around a pencil in order to curl them. The waxy flax adds a great touch to the flower. AWESOME!
Edited to add: Jenn let me know that the original designer of this card is Vicki Wizniuk. Great job, Vicki...You Rock! I hope I spelled your name correctly!

Butterfly Collection

I am so glad to be home for a couple of weeks, before we are off for another weekend. I can't wait to get to my scrap table and create.

It is officially summer time for my boys, since they are out of school. I wish the weather knew it was summer. It has been rainy and cold lately, but I am sure the heat will come. Since my boys are not in school, I will complete my tutorials randomly during the week. It will be whenever I get a free, QUIET, moment without them! I hope they sleep in, so I can tape them before they are up. So instead of Tutorial Tuesday, look for Tutorial Time.

I am finally finished with the last card I made for the butterfly series of cards we will be creating at the next card class in June. My sister helped me design this one at my last crop, since she didn't like the first one I made. This one is 3 1/2 x 8. Here is the recipe:

Paper - Paper Garden Level 2, Blush cs, Sweet Leaf cs, Colonial White cs
Stamp sets - Butterflies, From Me To You
Ink - Blush, Petal
Medium - Coloring Pencils
Embellishments - Prisma Glitter (love it), Blush designer ribbon rounds, pop dots (non-CTMH)

All products are CTMH unless noted. Wow! This one definitely looks better in person. You can't see the glitter well unless you click on the card to enlarge it.
