Technique Tuesday - Liquid Glass

I don't have a 6 x 6 layout for liquid glass, so I took a picture of the bottle of liquid glass that CTMH sells. As you can see, mine is very worn. I haven't used it recently and after looking at the cards I have pulled from my archives, I need to use it soon!

You can Use liquid glass to accent, brighten, magnify, and add dimension to embellishments and designs. Here are the directions:
  • Turn bottle upside down and let liquid flow to tip (do not shake).
  • Remove cap and gently squeeze bottle to establish flow onto your project.
  • Drying time will vary according to amount of product applied, ranging from 15 minutes to one hour.
  • After use, rinse applicator tip with warm water and replace cap.
  • If needed, clear tip with pin before using.
Here is a card created by Sandy Havens, CTMH Independent Consultant. She used liquid glass on the letters in thanks to make them look like tiles. Great job!

Here are two Easter cards I made about two years ago. I used liquid glass for the detail on the Easter eggs.

Now, it is your turn!

Happy Stamping!

Wow! Beautiful cards as usual. I must must start fitting scrapbooking into my schedule. If it wasn't for your blog and all the great things you creat I would not even feel tempted to get started again.

Too funny, Kim! My bottle looks remarkably similar to yours! Thanks for the tips. I actually used mine for the first time in a long time last night! :o)

Another little tip that I do, I put a pin in the tip(I cut it down just a tad)and screw the lid back on, and I also store it upside down to keep the liquid near the top and air bubbles away.

Thanks for sharing! Looks like you are motivating many!!!

I love liquid glass. I like how it stays raised when it dries adding dimension as well as shine. The brand I used before I joined CTMH didn't do that because it would dry flat. I just used liquid glass on my card I created yesterday. You can see it on my blog if you're interested. I love your technique posts because I learn so much! Thanks for posting them and your other great artwork. :)
