Color Throwdown #87

My friend, Tammy has inspired me week after week in the Color Throwdown challenges.  I decided to play along this week.  I am going to give it a try every week, so I use color combos I might not have used.  Some times I get stuck in a rut using the same colors all the time.  I challenge you to play along this week too.

This week's challenge is to use pink, soft olive and gray.  To color this adorable image, I used my Stampin' Pastels, blender pen and an aqua painter for the background.  Oh, I love trying new medium.  It is the first time I used my Stampin' Pastels and blender pen to color.

Materials used are stampin’ up! Unless noted
Stamps: A flower for all seasons (#111592), three little words (#113254), retired big wheel
Paper: OLD OLIVE (#100702), DSP Stack II, whisper white (#100730), BASIC GRAY (#108692), LIGHT GRAY
Ink: OLD OLIVE (#102277)
Accessories: silver brads (#104336), stampin' pastels (#1055420, blender pen (#102854), aqua painter (103954), 1/2" striped grosgrain ribbon pretty in pink (#113882)
Punches: modern label (#116630), word window (#105090)
Techniques: coloring with stampin' pastels and blending pen

Fantastic Kim. I've always love this color combination, especially in Spring! Love your design and the way you have skewed your image. It adds lots of interest.

How fun for you, Kim! I love the results of your trying a new medium. Wow! Such a fun image to try it on, too.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy seeing the cards colored with Copics, but there seems to be a strong trend toward just using the markers. I am thrilled to see other mediums used.

Great job, sweetie!

Very cute Kim, and inspiring! Maybe I'll set the Copics aside someday and blow the dust off my Stampin' Pastels, too! I can't remember the last time they saw the light of day! Thanks for joining us this week!
